Argos are doing a SIM Free Alcatel handset plus a £20 VOXI SIM for £7.49

Ok, not the best handset in the world but for £7.49 including the £20.00 VOXI SIM it's not to bad.

OP left out the crucial part of this deal:

£20 Voxi Plan.... the key word here is "PLAN".

Effectively the credit is for one month only and then you'd be entering into some kind of monthly sim only type contract
If it was a payg sim with £20 that would be a deal, but this is cold.

Nice find @wotsits999 that would make a very good second phone
Nokia 105 still available from CPW for £1.99 + £10 top up but this with more credit is probably a better deal, depends what phone you want though.
Cheers OP, reserved, heat, the cheapest way to unlock a Vodafone handset for £7.49 and a basic unlocked phone

This is already posted, its just the other OP doesn't mention the Promo's on offer with the phone. Though the link takes you through to the same phone.

Just cancel it after the month.

So what's the point in doing the deal in the first place then?
Gets you the credit and the phone cheap.
Is it the £20 Voxi bundle preloaded and won't you have provide (under 25) ID to activate the sim card?
Very unclear.

It will use electrol roll information when you register
just ordered - thanks OP!!!
IS there a time dealine before which one must register & activate the sim to be able to use up the one month free? As for cancellations after that, can you give notice on same day as activation?

Thanks for prompt enlightening replies.

When I attempted to register previously, it wanted DL or Passport details.

That doesn't surprise me ...

If this is anything to go by:

Are you sure about that?.

Normally SIM Only Plans' require a minimum of an initial 30 Day grace period/notification period, etc etc first?.

Before they'd then ...

I'm on a such 'similar' now (ambient a totally different Network - but to be fair, when it comes to that end of things, every UK Network play's the same).

I reckon it would more likely be a case of activate that VodaFone freebie in one of their Store's, and request for your 30 Day's cancellation notice with them there and then!.

Before you physically leave their Store ...

Job done. :-)

I believe it'll be more like in-line with that of my above comment ...

All the best with that. :-)

Oh the irony, so that other OP clearly lost out.

Basic as hell as the Phone is, I may still get one as it's UNLOCKED! (key word there, lol).

Plus it's also relatively cheap too (for what it is, that is?). :-D

I'm sure that £20 freebie credit thing that you guys are pretty much all currently talking about could ALWAYS be given off to some third party 'host' right?.

To your kid's, grand kids, friend's, etc etc?.

(There'll be ALWAYS hungry mouths to feed somewhere else too right? - just a thought). :-)

Note to self.

Even though it says the eligibility is for those that are of the age of 25 or under ...

As it's also been indirectly pointed out, this is a 'Rolling SIM'.

A Rolling SIM' is just another fancy name/word for a 'Contract SIM' (be LESS Legal liabilities to the intended user/individual, etc?).

Any Contract SIM can only be Legally administered in the UK to person's of the age of 18 Year's or over!.

So it would be pointless therefore to pass the included SIM Card onto a person of the age of say 16 or 17 then? (or even younger than that perhaps?, eg. a 10 Year Old? - unless of course, either Mummy, and/or Daddy are happy/prepared to wear the possible 'fallout' of all that?).

Just a thought?. :-)
Alcatel seem to be pushing a LOT of their budget end Phone's via both O2 and Argos of late (I've noticed).

I wonder if their plan is for some kind of reverse form of World domination?.

Eg. Flood the Market with very cheap, and/or affordable Phone's of one ilk or another (be they cheap Android Smart Phones - or otherwise?).

(Sort of like perhaps a hardware version of the Firefox Browser on our desktops?, lol).

Or that I suppose
Just got those who aren't bright, no mention of contract, because it isn't

I didn't need to prove ID

I DID have to provide my debit card details but they don't stay on file, you can opt out EASILY anytime once active, the allowances continue until the 30 days are up,

Once your £20 plan starts, you get the £20 bundle and no monetary credit, you have unlimited calls and texts, and unlimited social media data, and 15gb for everything else

I also got an unlimited movie pass free, and an unlimited music pass for free, meaning my Netflix and Apple music binge didn't come out of the 15gb, and when I checked my account it simply said unlimited data

I also got unlimited MMS (which no one really needs anymore)

This deal is HOT and if you disagree then you are a fool, in my opinion

Thanks OP
Collected, bloody Voxi website/chat is down lol no activation then!
activated! Webpage no longer asks for passport etc

this may may be as a credit file/account exists at address or Voxi have dropped the ID requirement online ??

You may have to purchase the bundle for months 2 onwards to keep the 6 month freebies, I'm not sure as I only used my SIM for 1 month

Maybe not, maybe just search for credit file activity in the name/DOB and not require electoral roll info which most under 25s (these days) don’t have - at the parental/guardian home.

Certainly my niece has a Sky Broadband account here at mine and Voxi didn’t ask for any ID just card details for future payments (which won’t be happening, free 30 days Voda network test and a free unlock).

Good to know Seaniboy. But the freebie was to be for one month, isnt it? So why does your data expire on 10th May?
Still a bit confusing as to what Voxi are playing at.

All activations are getting unlimited data and 6 months free passes until 10th of May Even better when Argos are giving away the first month free on the £20 plan just downgrade to £10 plan before your billing date and you have 5 months social media and audio/video streaming, unlimited mins texts and mms for £10 quid a month

easy enough to port out and in on 30 day terms if a better deal comes up with Voxi too

had had a few issues activating sim after checkout so they had to manually activate sim but live chat sorted it out, I followed what they said but it didn’t work so they ended up just crediting me £20 and converting - the Argos code may work for someone else wanting a Voxi sim without the £7.49 - anyone who wants to try it just give me a shout
