Single gear spoils this model.
It means the torque is lower reducing it's efficiency as a screwdriver. Plus it's drilling speed is lower than drills with 2 gears.
If you search on eBay for drill 14.4 there is a guy selling 14.4v lithium ion drill for £25 delivered. It's a park side model that lidl sold. It's better than the black and decker having slightly better torque for screwdriving plus a faster drilling speed in it's second gear. And it's £20 cheaper. I bought one last week and it's great for the money.

voted cold. come on 3 hr charge time. don't think my wife would allow me the luxury of waiting 3 hrs to complete a DIY task. A drill is what a food mixer is to a woman - for life ( apologies to all women or men out their) just used to prove a point. you pay for what you get. Our wife's wouldn't entertain buying a foodmixer for £50 and neither would we bother buying a drill with a 3 hr charge when can spend another £50 and get something far more usable ( see screwfix offers on professional bosch drills).

We all link to something better that's double the price in every deal , come on

Alas no hammer function. This is vital for my own amusement, as it allows me to say 'Stop - Hammer time' as I please

Cold from me. B&Q had the hammer action version for £45 for bank holiday weekend just gone. Been this price at argos for a while.

I see LIDL are about to do a DIY range soon and they have the 10.8v drill/driver with the removable chuck again for £30.
Could be worth a look.

Is that going to have enough poke at 10v?

Still available for £50, diy.com/dep…prd, for a few quid more seems far better value to me.

If other Delorean owners are like me, we aren't interested in cheap deals. I've been guiding random people to winning Lottery and Euromillions tickets for years and collecting half their winnings. So never a need to buy cheap again

I have this and have been VERY happy with it....as a great screwdriver. The drill mode is OK if you want to drill into soft wood or butter.

But as a powerful screwdriver that holds a great deal of charge, this is excellent.

Link to a better deal, which will resolve all shortcomings of this deal.

Cold from me too. Got the other £50 B&Q one which can be same price if u manage to get the £5 off new club member offer.

Much better hands down. It's got hammer function and better torque. Will go through frozen butter and the hardest cheese.
