Anyone's thought's on this DSLR camera?, thanx.

With all these recent deals of decent mirrorless bodies with dual kit lenses at around £400 mark, forking out almost 300 quid for a plasticky outdated DSLR body with and average kit lenses without even VR, shouts false economy in my books.

Fair enough, that makes sense I suppose. :-)

I'm more of a Nikkon DSLR camera fanboy myself (so I'm more familiar with some of their range instead, etc?), though I'm also trying to veer into the some of these Canon DSLR camera ranges too - as I've heard from various people over the Year's that they're better in many ways than the Nikkon DSLR camera ranges, or whatever? (but I unfortunately have no clue on the pro's, and con's of these Canon DSLR camera's though - or at least, not enough to write home about, etc etc etc, lol).

Hence my initial query and stuff. :-D

Thanx for the initial input though, out of interest, do you have any link's to some examples, of some of those DSLR camera kit thing's you initially mentioned before/earlier please?. :-)
After a camera that is better than the flagship phones out and better than a nex-5n, would this do? Dont mind paying more if it warranties it

Better value and a lot more enjoyable to shoot imo.

id agree with pwel, mirrorless, if you can find a good deal is the way to go.
But at £279? Im not sure if there is anything close. Although as always with interchangeable lens cameras, the cost is in the lenses, not the body......
Check it has the features you need and the lens/lenses you might need. Otherwise youll just get frustrated. Something to always be aware of is these kit lenses have narrow appetures, which means slower shutter/higher iso's so unless your outside in the light these kits dont return the low light ability you might expect (although for indoors a 40quid flash will change that)

Compared to a phone it depends what your using it for I hate phones, but they have there uses.
Video is a factor, cheap camera bodies wont match a phones video, where more expensive mirroless bodies exceed it.

If you don't mind spending more & sticking with Nikon DSLRs, I reckon a D3500 with VR is a better option for £70 extra / £349: nikon.co.uk/en_…500
About Nikon's VR (Vibration Reduction): nikonusa.com/en/…tml
Amazon (1-year warranty): Nikon D3500 + AF-P DX 18–55 VR Kit - Black
JL (2-year warranty): Nikon D3500 Digital SLR Camera with 18-55mm VR Lens
My 11 year old daughter bought this with her birthday money as her first DSLR. The jury is still out on this one. The main reason is using, or rather not using the LCD screen to compose the shoot. On this camera you have to turn that off and use the viewfinder otherwise it is incredibly slow and 9 times out of 10 you end up missing the shot. Using the viewfinder yields good results but it feels a bit 1990s to be doing it that way.
