Yes it was £443.68 in 1981 so it's a great bargain

You'd need to make it spin around a bit though...

I didn't know these still exist

This is not a hot deal price, it has been this price for years. I have 2 of these and its a great price for a great product. It is easy to fit and works very well, I would highly recommend it for both of the hot days this year. P.S. you don't get a free flying cat with them as shown in the above video.

A ceiling fan for the bedroom is
the best thing you can buy for
your home in my 'umble opinion.
This one is a bit 'iffy though.,

Gosh that's ugly, I really need one for my lounge in the winter but all so so ugly.

Oh my God - it's horrid! Why would you want something like that above your head?

Depends how much bedroom action you are getting!oO

Unless you're utterly poor, hot and/or have no taste spend a bit more and get something that doesn't look so truly awful

Dreadful! Looks like something from the 70's, i bet they are dangerous too in modern low ceiling houses.

We have a ceiling fan in each room of the house except the bathroom and Kitchen. What a difference during the summertime. You can actually get a decent nights sleep and not roast like a baked potato. These come highly recommended.

They are ALL ugly show me one that does the job that is not ugly, but when you are in bed sweating your ass off at night, who cares what it looks like.

I got 1 ,4 years ago.and still works. They go in reverse 2.i have just bought another 4 our kids bedroom. .u can leave the fan on. With the light off .I have fitted some dear 1s in peoples houses. and there a lot noisier.

You need to buy something modern and classy like this http://www.dyson.co.uk/Fans-and-heaters/cooling-fans.aspx?mkwid=sagja6K2P_dc&pcrid=44831837339&pkw=dyson%20fan&pmt=e&gclid=COqvq5zz5b4CFQbMtAodjjMAMw

These fans are ok for cheap indian restaurants and people who like flock wallpaper still. It's 2014 people.

Welcome to the 80's

I had one similar about 15 years ago, could never sleep with it on,too noisy and it dried my eyes out

pmsl and I just installed one of these today because I thought it would be safer than a desk fan to leave on for my cat!

People who are saying these are easy to install must be much better at DIY than me. The instructions don't mention the second earth wire on the mounting plate, http://www.hotukdeals.com/tag/ask/ceiling-fan-where-connect-earth-wire-from-mounting-plate-1923568.

It's not extremely complicated, but it's quite fiddly and tiring and install. I think it was worth it in the end though, now happily sitting in a breezy living room It is pretty quite, I think my PS3 is louder! Was going to do this last year, but these £20 fans were sold out all summer at the nearest 6 Argos stores to me.

Also worth know if you are going to buy one, the product description states it takes two bulbs, when it actually takes one.

Being as you can buy 12 of the ops for the price of one of these then I know which one I would buy.

anyone know where you can get a wall fan from? I can't use a ceiling one as it's in my boys bedroom and the top bunk is too close to the light fixture and if I put one on the floor only the little guy on the bottom bunk gets any air. thanks

Are they easy to install? I have basic knowledge of lighting.. As in, I can change a light bulb. I'm not going to kill myself am I? Would I need to turn all the power off to the house u presume? Thanks

Ive just purchased a house which had 7 of these type installed. If i had known so many people wanted to live in the 80's i was have sold them on here! Instead the recycling man took the noisy, ugly dust traps away and i have clean modern lights now. And for the 5 days of summer we normally get, ill open a window if it gets hot!

-_- now I know where my dad bought my new ceiling fan.

I got over this by buying a clip on desk fan, fitted a shelf on the wall opposite and all sorted for around £20 all in.

It can be difficult if your lighting circuit doesn't have an earth (can't remember when earth became compulsory in new lighting circuits, but it didn't use to be), as you'd need to run one back to your consumer panel, or bodge it by connecting to an earth in a ring main.
