Detailing world did a review and rated it as good as most of the branded ones......remember all these big names just apply their stickers and mark ups to machines like this, they don’t make them.

Can I get any further discount?

Worth a punt..
Seems a good price but I remember using a machine like this on a black car I once owned and I did it all wrong and ended up covered in swirls!
Ordered for delivery this evening thanks op
I've had one of these for a few years now and it's very good.
Bought one a while ago for the same price. Used it twice and it's actually really decent. Cable length is the only downside, it's very short.
Bought one a few months ago after seeing it on here. The cable is a bit short and you only get one pad (I bought a few branded others) but it did a fantastic job on my 1992 project car. Wash, G3 clay mitt, then Meguiars Ultimate Compound with this machine and the dry, dull and gritty paintwork came up great. Then did it with Poorboys Black Hole for a deep shiney finish. I didn't want to spend £100 plus on a da polisher so for occasional use this one is good value.

I bought one last summer, it did a fantastic job on my wifes red corsa(completely removed the pinking from the paintwork) and left it with a brilliant gloss. Also used it on my silver mazda 6 that had some very noticeable scratches, again a fantastic job.
As others have said cable length is very short, you will need to use an extension. Highly recommend this for a great DIY use or simply to try before spending hundreds on poorboys etc.

That will have been a rotary polisher not a dual cation one like in the link.
Which is better this or the GMC 1200W polisher at £ 63.99?

This one. The GMC is a rotary and has potential to mess up your paint if you don’t know what you’re doing.
Got one of these, fantastic done a full car after respray and also the odd panel. You'll need to get a new head for it though a velcro one for less than £5 and recommend hexlogic pads by chemical guys

What are the best pads to get for this.
Is this soft start and/or variable speed?

Chemical Guys Hexlogic or Lake Country pads are both very good Clicky
Maybe a silly question but I have a random orbital sander, if I put a polishing disc on that isn’t it the same thing or does this do something extra? Don’t want to end up with two identical tools lol
I’d love one of these to try and take out some light swirls of my paintwork but I’d be scared I’d wreck it, are these ok for newbies

No, completely different, see here
I bought a das6 da polisher for more than double the price of this around 2 x years ago because I wanted to have a go at detailing myself. I have used it once. It is a great product, but for those thinking about giving their car(s) a good going over, at this price, it's worth taking a punt. I'm not so sure that spending £££s on a similar type of product in this case is necessarily worth it
Looks great - ordered! Anyone recommend what compound/polish to use? I was thinking to clay bar first, then use maguires ultimate compound, followed by autoglym polish?

Yeah Meguiars ultimate compound, it's about a tenner a bottle, maybe less, for 500ml. They say this polisher needs 7" pads, I bought the Hyet (Costway) DA polisher off Amazon for £46, has a longer cable and uses the much more common 6" pads, bought some cheap Chinese "hex logic" pads and it's a great kit. If you wash/clay the car properly before cutting/polishing you'll get great results. Takes time but is extremely rewarding especially if you're a first timer

I would recommend to use plenty of water and don’t let the paint work to heat up. Make sure paint work is washed and clean before attempting to polish.
Had this a while and its very good. I would recommend getting a set of smaller backing plates and foam pads from Aliexpress. I bought 2,3,4 inch backing plates with 3 of each 3,4,5 inch foam pads for about £15 from China. Just as good as the trendy car detailing shop stuff in the UK, and about 1/10 the price.I used the following supplier, but there are loads of others: Shop
I bought one from Lidl last year... Would this be better?
i have the car now need the tools. cheers for the link

THe GMC is a rotary polisher, you'll damage your paint if you don't know what your doing. The dual action is a safer option, plenty of detailing demos on you tube.
Got one thanks OP

You can't go wrong with a dual action it must of been a rotary
I have an orbital rotary at 3300rpm... Would this still do a good job at cutting and polishing?
Going to buy this to try and get rid of a deep key scratch someone has put on my my M5, due to jealously I think.

Will t-cut first. Hope it works...

General rule of thumb - if you drag your finger nail over it and can feel it, a DA polisher will only lessen it not remove it. If its a through the paint then the only way you are going to fix it is to add paint back on it.

Yes it's through the paint down to bare metal. I wanted to touch up with a pen, then apply t -cut and then use this thing..

If it doesn't work, I'll get it re sprayed by bmw , but i think it will..

Kindest regards

You need to look at some guides as t-cut will do bugger all after a touch up pen, you need to flat it off with 2000 grit before any polishing takes place.
