Not available in any store near Manchester.

Got one reserved at Victoria....so this will basically allow you to connect true 5.1 surround to your PC...that's about it?! Or can it also be used for x-box/TV etc through PC speakers?!

There's one at Bolton Bridge Street if that's any help

decent price if you can find stock non in sheffield

One in Portishead

There is one more in Silverburn in Glasgow if anyone is interested

According to the review, this card has some problems with Vista.

one left in Melton and Rugby

Just got the last one in Perth - yippee!

just reserved the 2nd to last one in Swindon Brunel Centre, thanks

Just bagged one at Stockport, cheers.

That's cos it's ****.

If you want a decent small external sound card then it's the M-Audio Transit all the way. Stereo USB DAC with 5.1 digital pass through. It's a great bit of kit, even if there's no deal.

I have reserved one but dont want it as i have read the reviews ?

How do i cancel my reservation ? =]

I just want to convert my vinyl to MP3 - would this be the cheapest and best way to do so?

Just reserved one at the Paisley store,

How would you connect your 5.1 speakers to it if there is only 1 left ans 1 right connection

About the going rate really

Wouldn't touch another Creative product with a barge pole, having suffered with an X-fi sound card.

Have a look at their forums. This is a new post. They must have deleted the old thread which was over 100 pages long, with not an ounce of effort from Creative to fix the problems.

YEP - Always used creative cards but will never go back to them again after breaking there Vista sound drivers on purpose and providing little or no support.

Basically - With Vista and a creative card when playing music or whatever you will get lots of little crackles/distortion through your speakers which is EXTREMELY annoying to say the least, especially for me when recording music, I'll be playing a guitar or piano and half way through you get a loud distorted crackle.

This is widely documented over the internets and there is a guy that's cracked creatives drivers to make them work who has now been sued!!!

Anyway I would avoid like the plague if you are running on Vista. I'm going for an Asus Xonar D2X.

Despite the mixed reception I'm tempted. The optical on my laptop was annoyingly placed at the front and has been damaged.

There's one left at my local.

1 in Harlow, if anyones here.....

Just don't turn up. They will only hold it for so long....

if you want an x-fi for a normal PC, don't buy this, buy an internal one.

have one reserved in Birmingham Stechford, 1st PM will get it. Cheers.

Appears to be only Vista 64 problems, I am gettig one anyway heat added.

Works perfectly for me on vista x64

Good man, checked online and scare stories seem to refer only to Vista 64 and the older drivers anyway, apparently its fixed now, but thanks for the heads up guys, I will take my chance, had creative cards for over 20 years now, although not been highly impressed with anythign since the audigy 2 , worth a stab for my laptop ;-)

Make all your compressed MP3 audio sound better

Snake Oil, people.

As mentioned above, if you want a small USB soundcard, M-Audio Transit would be much better. Behringer make a tiny USB interface for a similar price which is totally solid.

M-Audio transit is good but it's also twice the price (and I've found that it's rather fussy about USB ports, doesn't play nice if even the IRQ for the port is shared, never mind trying to use a hub or anything..)

Bought one of these this morning, been playing about with it on my XP laptop. The drivers on the CD are terrible, kept telling me they couldn't find a compatible card, but the automatic updater downloaded new ones and they work just fine. No clicks, pops, BSODs or anything. There's no perceptible lag when playing videos either.

I actually had crackles/pops with my external USB creative sound card when i had it connected to my XP system too!! At the time i thought the problem was probably caused by poor wiring to my Hifi, but it makes more sense now. Will definately never buy a creative card again :x So frustrating when it takes u an hour to record approx 5 mins of vinyl to PC due to interference

I get this crackle too with mine, but not all the time. It is Vista 32 bit and it drives me loopy! Anyone know if there are independent drivers kicking about?

Go here ]http//bl…tml and check out the story about this guy who hacked the drivers to work on Vista (who has now been sued)

The drivers are kicking around on the internet and DO work I might add although I'm still not 100% happy with the sound quality but much respect to the man to get them to this point.

Creative should be ashamed of themselves for what they have done and if people took the time to read the articles around this they may steer clear of them, certainly changed my view of them and I've been using creative sound cards since the early 90's, won't be using them again.

I feel your pain but it is important to remember it may not be an issue with the drivers in your case have you checked your latency settings? Or your system load during this time? This may be the cause of some of your problems.

But, I certainly wouldn't trust creatives drivers either.

I know all about this chap, but everywhere his drivers have been posted, they are soon gone. I'm not even sure his drivers will support this device sadly.

If one opts to use optical output, will you experience the same hissing?

This sound card is amazing. Reserved it yesterday and just picked it up, the drivers installed no problem on my laptop which is running windows xp, i just have to say this thing is a million times better than the on board sound card which is a Realtek HD one.I Would Recommend This To Anyone! After hearing negative reviews i have to say its well worth the £26
