This seems to be a glitch on Argos website.

They currently have the following offer if you purchase selected PS3 games:
Save 1/2 on either PS3 Controller Dual Charging Station (566/8980) or PS3 Compatible Wireless Controller (568/0542) when you buy this game. To receive this offer add both items to your trolley. Offer ends 23rd July 2010.

But when I added the PS3 Blu-ray Remote Control (item number 568/3790) and the PS3 Controller Dual Charging Station (566/8980) both in the basket this is what came up:

PS3 Controller Dual Charging Station. 566/8980 1 £0.00
HP Photosmart Premium. 670/4623 1 £99.99
PS3 Blu-ray Remote Control. 568/3790 1 £16.00
Total: £115.99
Includes special offer saving (if you buy all items together at one store): £9.99

Hope this helps someone

Thanks for the post

It looks like it gets reduced to zero if you add anything at all. I'm pretty sure that the store systems would correct this error though when you try and collect. Best of luck if you try.

They'll tell you it's a glitch and not honour it, it's what they do.

did this but wont let you collect free item instore will charge you half the item price as stated online

if you reserve more than one it goes to 0 as well

Going to try tonight, thanks!

Ordered 2 for £0.00  I doubt I will get away with this :whistling:

i am off to argos .. cheers

Ordered....pick up and report back....cheers OP !

Just back from Argos (only 2 mins round the corner).... The quick pay terminal shows full price and they would not honor it on a print out...but good luck to anyone else.

The store i tried was in Livingston retail park.

Yeah so you are going to go to the store and expect them to give it to you free? Lolness

voted cold -

When you go to check the PS3 controllers disapear and just left with small folder shopper for home del

Really..... don't bother.
Argos stores almost never honour reserve & collect web glitches.

Complete waste of time :whistling:. And the item in question is a cheap piece of tat anyway.

Though having said that, there are many other accessories this glitch works on.
Some of which are available for home delivery.

I suggest people investigate.

Having worked at Argos - home delivery may work, collect in store will NOT. Simply dont waste your time.

having shopped at Argos, chances are this could work ;-)
I'll be near one tomorrow anyway, so I'll give it a go.

I dont see how.

The glitch is on the website, not on the instore POS system.

Therefore, you will be charged the price "on the day".

So when you go to pay and they ask for zero pounds. and you say "sure i'll pay you with zero cash or invisible money on my credit card. What do you think will happen?

It is actually a decent bit of kit. We have 2 in ours and they work a treat

I'm going to stay optimistic, got a few Argos game glitches in the past.

For each 2 accessories you buy, you get a £20 deduction.

So,
Find cheap accessories->win!

Example:

]
PS3 controller
£14.99.
2xPS3 controller £9.98.

That seems to be all its working on....just tried a few others?

There are others... infact, quite a lot!

I wonder..... are they going to sell me £400 worth of stuff for just the £5.95 delivery fee :w00t:

Can you advise which ones?

I'm not saying they dont exist, just cant find em

I'll post a list if I don't find anything I want :-D

Though you need to be looking for items that are on special offers akin to "buy THIS, and get SOMETHING ELSE for half price".
It seems some of these offers trigger with any 2nd item in the trolley, not just the specified 2nd item.

In addition, if the 2nd item you put into your trolley is part of a different special offer (but of the same type) they trigger each others' special offers!

568/0542 seems to trigger a £20 reduction if you order x 2

Good point

Xbox 360 Charge and plays for £19 delivered for 2 - not amazingly cheap, but certainly the cheapest online....

]360 headset: £9.99, or £4.99 if something else is in your basket.

]xbox 360 charging thingy: £12.99, or £6.32 if something else is in your basket.

etc etc, it's relatively easy to find more once you know what you're looking for.

The golden ones are these 2.

]DSi replacement stylus kit: £2.99, or £0.00 if something else is in your basket.

]DS replacement stylus kit: £2.99, or £0.00 if something else is in your basket.

As they work out free, you can add one (or more if you're greedy) to your basket & it'll trigger the special discount of your other item without adding anything to the cost.
If you really felt like a t**t, you could fill your basket with the replacement stylus packs & pay just P&P.
However, i think they're more valuable to use as discount trigger items so please nobody empty their stock.

I think it's worth exploring other Argos departments; you might be able to get some crazy reductions on some of the more expensive stuff that is intended to be bought along-side a very expensive item.

Incidentally, the stylus packs work out free because:
a) They're already half price
b) they're part of a half price special offer. (the discount applied uses the base price not the currently discounted price)
c) the special offer triggers for any 2nd item in the trolley.

Find more things on the site that fit the above 3 criteria & we'll be laughing.

I voted hot, but it is now showing out of stock for home delivery so should be expired (or the OP edited to include the DS stylii etc).

You reckon that they will actually honour it?

If ordering on the website, I don't see why not.
It's likely a highly automated process.
