Hello,

This may/may not be a deal, but it would seem that Argos may be prone to a few more glitches.

At the moment, Argos has a deal (not really a deal imo) for two £29.39 games for £45. I decided to have a little play around with the argos site in hope that I may find another Infamous/Motorstorm/Resistance deal. Alas, I didnt quite find what I was looking for, however, I did spot something that might be more pleasing to all those nectar card holders whose points are burning holes in their pockets!

Right now Burnout Paradise: The Ultimate Box has £10 knocked off bringing it down to £19.39. When adding any of the below in addition to this, it will bring up a price of £35 in your basket. Essentially this is a £13.78 saving on Argos prices.

You can only do this when adding Burnout Paradise to your basket (but feel free to try more variations).

I have also added the cheapest prices I could find around so that you can assess what is a deal and isnt. *Seems to be the cheapest through the Argos method.

Burntout Paradise: The Ultimate Box PS3 (£16.97, Amazon)
+
Grand Theft Auto: IV - PS3 (£14.73 (Platinum), TheHut)
50 Cent Blood On The Sand - PS3 (£17.38, Amazon)
*Metal Gear Solid 4 - PS3 (£22.95, ShopTo)
James Bond Quantum Solace - PS3 (£17.99, ShopTo)
*Super Car Challenge - PS3 (£29.39, Argos)
Skate 2 - PS3 (£10.99 Play.com)
FIFA 09 - PS3 (£16.85, ShopTo)
WWE Legends of Wrestlemania - PS3 (£17.99, Play.com)
Tiger Woods 09 - PS3 (£17.99, Play.com)
Need For Speed Undercover - PS3 (£16.95 mymemory.co.uk)
Street Fighter IV - PS3 (£17.99 Play.com)
Tom Clancy's H.A.W.X - PS3 (£17.99 Play.com)
*Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare - PS3. (£24.85, ShopTo)
Fallout 3 - PS3 (£17.73, TheHut)

However, if youre looking for Burnout, and any of the above and do have some nectar points to spare, this will be for you.

I dont expect this to be burning hot, but I thought Id make you all aware.

PS: You may want to try adding the cooling fan, keyboard etc to see if you get a third off (as in the deals)

As mentioned below; Skate 2 is £24.99 at Play.

Thanks
To be honest, I could of gone all day searching and comparing, but this may sprout a few more deals just from people searching (well I hope so anyway) Hopefully it'll help someone.
I'm tempted to get MGS 4 with it and use my £20 in nectar points lol

Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns Of The Patriots £14.95 @ MyMemory.co.uk

Burnout Paradise with Call Of Duty 4: Modern Warfare for £35 is a good offer. You won't get COD4 cheaper than £25...

When this was an xbox glitch, it gave COD4 and BP:TUB together for £30.60.

i will warn you now that they do not have to honor this price instore even if you reserve it (states at bottom of reservation page). But me being an employee, i can tell you that argos also have a policy which contradicts this, basically if you take a print out of the reservation with you when you go to buy it then policy says that they have to do it at that price. :P

100% wrong, It specificaly states on the reservation email that you pay the price that the item is when you buy it in the store and not the price you pay on the reservation itself.
a reservation is just reserving the right to a purchase of the item and not the item itself

they can have an internal policy if they so wish.

But Head Office polices over-ride all instore policies, otherwise the instore policy could be to give away 10 free TV's a day or something.
Or in the case of the recent Argos glitches of people getting a £45 game for £6, do you really think Head Office will allow that? cmon

Skate 2 at £10.99 should be a new HUKD in it's own thread if it's as good as the first one!

Eh, sorry...this may have been a mistake on my part! Or, maybe it was that price when I searched, but is now now that price...SORRY!

Great work sherlock!!
Heat and rep added:-D

Not a great deal for me. Sorry. (Yeah I said not for ME, so those ready to get their pubes in a twist please buzz off).

hmmm..... saw burnout paradise for 9.99 on another thread... sominus 10 quid and most games are cheaper

No heat from me I'm afraid....

As a few people have mentioned, BOPUB can be bought for 10 and the most expensive game on that list is MW or SF4 for roughly 25 = 35. I suppose if you WANT to take a drive to Argos or are to LAZY to look for the deals on HDUK then it might be good for ya?!?

Note.

I HAVEN'T voted cold, just not voted! Nectar card holders could find it useful!

MGS4 has been £9.97 in my local Currys for weeks :whistling:

They will not, and do not have to sell it for the price you find on the internet. As someone else said they have policies which cover their backsides. My brother who studied it in law explained it to me when i tried the infamous/motorstorm etc deal the other day...........Not voting cold, just saying it wont work, the other aspect, nectar points maybe useful, no idea as i dont use a nectar card, strange as i work in sainsburys!

Thanks OP, worked great with Burnout ultimate and GTA4. Reserved online, but the machine in store said i need to talk to a member of staff. Went to customer services. Originally wrong price came up (45) but I showed them the web reservation and the manager was able to do something different and the price did come up as 35. Very pleased as I've just got a ps3, so wanted some decent games to play this weekend. Thanks!
