The handles are attached with aluminium rivets which get attacked in the dishwasher and eventually fail. My lid handle is now attached with stainless steel screws and nuts, and the pot handles are loose and leak when the pot is full.
We still use it almost every day and this is a great price.
I bought this a few years ago, over time the base came away from the main part of it and it had a gap. It still worked obviously but it didn’t look too good. Also not nonstick but for 6 quid it’s very handy, many soups and stews have been made
to be honest i never thought i'd be commenting on a thread about a giant stockpot BUT- I bought one of these about 8 years ago and it's my most used kitchen item. Perfect for whacking a load of stuff in for 1-pot meals and just letting it stew away. Perfect for batch cooking because its bloody huge. I'm very attached to it.
Only downside is the metal handle is a pain and obviously just burns you if you don't use a glove ( so every single time)
bargain find
Bought both sizes can’t wrong with those prices heat added
Thanks op
Good deal @goonertillidie Heat added
Tempted by possitive comments. Off to see if one local
People who own this, how thick is the steel on the bottom? I heard thin ones can burn soup and don't distribute heat well?
Good price. We could do with a new one for stuff like stew and dumplings when winter comes...
bad item, burns at the bottom and the handle go soooooooooooooo hot, honestly not worth it
