Was posted a few weeks back when reduced down from £79.99 to £32.99, bought one then for my husband as he suffers from a bad back (personally think he suffers from me asking him to do stuff around the garden he doesn't want to do ) & he says he thinks it's helped (hopefully the grass will be cut soon then) - just noticed it's now been reduced further to £24.99 so thought it worth a re-share

Really decent price, comparable seem to be around £50 - £60 - Free C+C from store, plenty of stock around & they are offering 1 day delivery in quite a few areas too.

Shifts the back pain to your knees. Makes a change

Looks like something you'd find in a castle dungeon. Is your plan to offer hubby the choice between sitting on this, or doing the garden?
good find hot:)
I'm interested in one of these, not for a bad back thankfully but just to try and improve my posture at work all day, thanks op. Anyone got good experience of it

Had this a few years back and found after an hour or so i really needed a back rest. OK for short periods for me.

I got one when it was last posted.
Easy to put together though I didn't realise quite how heavy / awkward the box was when I walked to Argos from home to collect.
Takes a little bit of getting used to and is a little creaky but it's stopped me slouching at my desk

Although significantly more expensive, I would recommend looking for a second hand Varier chair if you're planning on using it for long periods every day. I got mine for £100 on Ebay. It is comfortable for much longer periods than these types of chairs, which do not allow you to 'rock' the position of your spine to release the tension that builds there from having no backrest.

Sounds complicated, but just try one. They're worth every penny (if bought second hand) and re-sale value is always high.
I tried one of these but like s previous poster, found my back felt tired. Best thing I ever bought for my back was an exercise ball, don't exercise with it, I just use it as a chair.
heat added!!!! i was looking to buy one of these.... i just wish the feet up stool, would also be discounted
My uncle Quasimodo used one of these for years. didnt do him any harm.

I too got one when they were at £32, unfortunate, I've found a way to slump forward in it

I still think it was a good buy (and I still use it), but the locks on the wheels were very annoying as my big feet kept knocking the lever and putting them on when I didn't want them on. It got so annoying, I took a Stanley knife to the wheels to remove the lever. Problem solved.

The other annoying thing is that the lower you have the chair, the more the swivel axis of the front wheel goes off vertical. This makes it very difficult to move the front of the chair side to side. It may sound like not much of an issue, but even an inch movement requires you to take weight off the chair.
Do Argos refund the difference if you've bought something recently and the price drops?

I have the Varier Variable Balans. There are other models that are more adjustable, but if you're around average height then the Balans should be a good choice. I recommend testing it out in a shop (I did so in Back in Action) if you can before purchasing online for the best price. I wish you the best of luck getting over your back problems. I personally found that a sit-stand desk topper and good chair helped me out of continuous back pain recently. They get some funny looks at work though!

By the way, I don't own the model with the backrest. Just the kneeling chair itself. You may wish to try both though to see which one suits your needs better.

I managed to get an offer accepted for Ergotron Lift 35 on Ebay for approx £130. It's great, but they're normally quite expensive. I have heard good things about Furna desks too.

Important features to look out for in a desk are: 1) solid build quality so it doesn't vibrate when you're typing (which is infuriating), 2) counter-weighting or air-pressure mechanism so its not so heavy to lift up, 3) plenty of room on the keyboard desk to move the mouse, 4) maximum weight handling (if you want to also keep more than a laptop on it).

Depends on flexibility too.
Ok ive stared at this a while now and I’m not getting it.. where do you put yourself on this..contraption?!
Great find, a bargain in comparison to other similar chairs. Sat on it now and it is improving my posture. At the price more than worth the gamble. it aches at first but then my lower back muscles are weak hopefully over time this will improve.
You sit on the top cushion with your knees on the bottom cushion. Personally I like the idea of the excercise ball and have started sitiing on one right now.
