cds are you access to eternal wav files. perfect sounding copies not broken apart and reconstructed by the internet.

they also still look great stacked.

people still play discs? how quaint.

Yeah believe it or not people actually still like proper ownership of music and film. 'Quaint' or not you don't get that with digital, plus you get to support your local shops by buying a product with better quality sound and picture which is sacrificed for convenience with digital.

About as sturdy as a drunk policeman, I'd avoid.

There is a lot of 'how do you do fellow kids' going on in this thread
What are DVDs?
Thanks OP. Wanted something like this to house my Xbox controller collection!

Haha blast from the past, used to have a bunch of black ash stuff including the CD storage rack, not very stable when your 1 year old (now 25 @AaronJamesMac ) was forever rocking over in his baby stroller trying to get to the CDs and pulling it down.

People with retro gaming collections don't have much choice in the matter

Not perfect sounding as CDs cut off all sounds above 20,000hz. Sound without those frequencies loses its relaxing effect. That's why vinyl is still in demand.

I wasn't go to buy one but I bought two based on this post.

The word "collection" was the giveaway in my post.

i got a collection as well. All on an SD card.
I have the taller versions very similar to these (2 metres). However, all my media is now digital, audio both lossy and lossless, with the originals in the loft.

Rather than chuck these units away, I painted them with white chalk paint and they now look great, useful for photos etc.

And, before anyone says it, I know, cool story

I wish I still had that battle of the planets DVD set, bloody 100 quid odd now!

My OCD couldn't have bluray and DVD on the same shelves though but I need something like that!

Ignore the troll. They own nothing. No matter what they say about digital it just doesn't beat physical and I struggle to understand why these people bother going on about digital everything. Like we have no idea what that is...the fact is we want physical, it would be easier to be digital but it's not the way we want it
Cheers op reserved one.

I have a Sega Naomi unit in my loft. Also have an amiga, Nintendo 64, dreamcast, xbox, etc.
The Naomi was stripped out of an arcade cabinet & replaced with a pc to run hyperspin in my mancave.
