Another one from the Argos furniture sale from me, this time a chest of drawers with 12 drawers. Six large and six smaller drawers to keep your unmentionables in, perhaps.

I unfortunately own a set of these, I paid £270 for these and the 4+2 set and I have to say they are pretty crap. The Bottoms of the drawers fall out ridiculously easily (even though it has plastic supports), The drawer runners are terrible, making closing drawers an art form (they get stuck on the left hand side, then the right hand side, you have to do it slowly ensuring even pressure to the middle or the Metal runners bend). A royal pain in the bum to build as well. I don't think I'd even pay £100 for another one.

Check the reviews. I don't think they're worth that price at all..just my opinion but I think you can get a decent ikea set for less

cheers was just about to order. Won't bother now!
I had the plain pine version of these (note the word had). Honest to god it was the worst piece of furniture I have ever owned. Stiff drawers, never felt strong, runners were crap and eventually just dropped to bits. And I paid a lot more than this price i have since bought 2 sets of Ikea Malm drawers which were great to build and feel solid. I wouldn’t even bother with this Argos rubbish.

Cheers. Been looking for a relatively slim unit like this. Ikea was spot on but deliveries are all over the place for them at the mo, especially my area, so bit the bullet and bought this

£100.95 all in with work scheme vouchers

Was looking at the Hemnes pine drawers on Ikea ,until I realised they take 4-5 hours to assemble, which defeats the purpose .
No point buying cheap furniture if it takes half a day to assemble.
Time is money.

Do you intend on using them for less than 4-5 hours?

If you want quality buy from Neptune 😁

Was gonna order myself not bothering now either
I have the pine version and the runners are awful. You’ll need to replace them pretty soon - doable but annoying

My experience in past with Argos chest of draws as well.

Currently got 3 sets from IKEA and can't complain at all. Sold draw bottoms (with metal supports down middle) and runners are strong and smooth. Worth the extra wait and money

What draws did you get from IKEA. Planning to get some new ones soon was looking at malm hear there very good for the price.
I honestly wouldn't buy this even if it was on offer for a tenner, they just look cheap crap,I'd rather put my clothes in a bin liner

I went with the Brimnes chest of drawers. Different sizes available. I wanted deeper draws, Malm are good as well.

I'll take a look thanks.
Bad quality, don’t waste your time, you much safer going with Ikea

I have the hemnes drawers and also the Argos ones - ikea furniture far superior - the bottoms have fallen out so many times in the argos set of drawers that I've had to completely replace the bottom of all the drawers and add in additional supports
A 1 year guarantee is a huge red flag for me when it comes to furniture. It suggests that it will be flimsy, unstable materially and/or has a finish prone to damage.

I'd pay £25 for it new at most but even then not expect a great product. Maybe I've been spoilt by the quality manufacturing found in most of the antique furniture available cheaply in charity shops.
Absolutely hate Argos furniture. Bought a 3 door wardrobe early this year and immediately it started falling apart. Complete rubbish. Waste of money and 6 hours of my life building it!

Appreciate you mentioning that mate!
I'm all for charity shop solid pine drawers.. quick sand and a repaint and you've got something solid for cheaper than flimsy new ones

This seems to be a common theme with anything Argos when it comes to drawers; no matter what furniture set/type it's part of. Have experienced pretty much the same problems as outlined above with a bookcase-combined-2-drawer piece from Argos a few years ago, and the drawers lasted all of 2 minutes before falling apart very quickly. Sworn never to buy anything involving drawers from Argos again - it's not worth the torture!

At least this, along with the rest of the comments on this thread, allows me to realise it wasn't actually just my possible-shoddy workmanship ability on putting together flat-pack furniture, but that it might just have been piss-poor product quality to blame instead... silver linings and all that!

Saving a few bob by spending 4-5 hours assembling some flat pack furniture is a bit ludicrous.
Time is money
I put together two tall Hemnes chest of drawers in under 6 hours - an hour of that was spent undoing some of the build on the first one where I ,made a mistake.

It’s reasonable quality and great for the price.

Wouldn’t bother with Argos for furniture.
great stuff easy build heat

Yep, antique/older furniture is the way to go. Choose carefully, and you can buy real wood items at a truly modest price, compared to shoddily built stuff like this.

I agree! I had to order a new set of runners within a month and luckily they sent me a full set so had enough to keep replacing them for the year.
I ordered another bag of runners just to keep me going until I decide to get some new draws
Would rather spend five hours making a set of drawers from IKEA that are going to last ten years rather than spending a couple of hours making a set from Argos that last six months.
Will never buy furniture from argos again, they are awful.

Looks cheap and nasty, save your money and wait for IKEA to open, might take you a while longer to build but worth the extra wait and money
Argos home furniture is rubbish.... I've had nothing but problems
Ive been looking for a new chest of drawers as my current set are very old and weary. Id say for £100 youre getting a lot of storage space, and i hear what people are saying about looking at ikea etc. I looked at ikea the other day, and for a similar unit i couldnt find one for less than £250. A deal in my eyes, heat added.
