These really are rubbish, it will be a huge task to get them to stand upright.

Mine works fine - just stand them in the corner!

Against a wall yeah
Mine too, really good value for money. If uneven floor a chair felt-pad will help.
Is the cable inside the pole or just clipped on the side...?
We had to return two of these in a row - first one had no threading on one of the poles so couldn't connect them, second wouldn't stand up straight

Inside top part of the pole, exit the pole about a foot from the top, and you clip it to the pole anywhere. Cable has the switch.

None of them stand up straight these are £6 for a reason. The pictures don’t give a true reflection of how poor quality they are. The cable sags against the side of the pole, this also causes it to tilt and stand uneven. The stand at the bottom is not the one pictured in the OPs picture, it is the second image on the Argos listing (the flat top circle stand). This just sits on top of the very light weight, which can be easily seen. It also sits uneven on the weight, so again causes the pole to tilt...

Seriously, do not buy this rubbish unless you are on the tightest of budgets.
Bought a similar one from Homebase for 3 quids couple of years back and still going strong !

Have placed it in a corner between the sofa and the wall and with a smart bulb on, had not needed to touch it often.

These are great for accent lighting behind things.I've had these for years but only screwed one part of the pole on so it was short and stuck it behind a corner unit and a chair. Can't see the lamp. just the soft light it gives off. Used with a smart bulb it's quite effective for a cheap price. I'm sure I paid £6 for a pack of 2 before though.
These are nice looking decent enuff quality lamps. I got one and ordered a 4watt bulb off ebay for my inlaws living room cos I cannot stand having main light on when chilling.

Nice idea not to use the whole height available. I have a couple of these for use with Philips Hue bulbs and they are great considering the price.
" ES edison eco halogen."

Halogen? They're benig phased out. Is that why they are discounted?

I've got a "normal" bulb version of this I think (looks similar) . It works OK though its not heavy so not as sturdy as some others might be.

C_Y:... Somebody finally for no reason whatsoever able to tell anybody who bought it that they've not taste :/ Just a reminder: you're not on fb or twitter! in case you're blinded by your 'home decor' self assurance

I bought what appears to be this lamp a few years ago from argos. The base was weighted by being filled with poured concrete and it didn't take long for the concrete to crumble and I kept getting little gritty bit across my wooden floor that scuffed it when people walked over them.

I bought one of these a few years back. Have to agree with the other comments that they're £6 for a reason...don't set your expectations too high!

yes Edison screw will, but I wonder why they specify halogen then. If it includes a bulb perhaps they are gettign rid
of old stock?
