CodeTV10 works on TV's over 499
Edited by: "discoman2016" 7th Jun

The firmware's littered with bugs - each new release introduces even more. I should know - I'm suffering random lockups on mine

CodeTV10 works on TV's over 499

Can you ask them to apply this code in store? I need to pay in store to use some vouchers I have and it only allows you to use 3 vouchers online.
Any help with this would be great.
Thanks

Always put off when in the details its says 1 x Scart Socket. This must be an old model surely?

anyone know if it supports IPTV?

Weirdly the earliest any searches seem to be dated is mid 2016. Reviews around Q3 2016. So relatively new id assume by that.
This is the image with the connectors on on the product page.

Yes

Excellent deal

Nice to see discoman is on the case again well done Heat

Terrible user interface it's all over the shop. Good picture after playing with settings. However without ambilight I think this tv is only worth £199 at best!

Very glitchy on initial set up also! "Updating apps" screen took best part of a day running fibre. Also know way to remove unused hdmi inputs to make it look clean.

Any links to best setup as I know this was on offer around Christmas time if any owners already out there?
My tv now is 40" and when I went to collect this I still couldn't get it in the back of my SMax without the seat down so my wife is going to go mental.......
Wish me luck

£200? Lol...

I ordered the 49 inch two days ago and got the £399 price. It's £499 now!

Wonder how it would compare to hisense in this price range?:|

Some of our active online codes can be used in-store – simply check the Ts & Cs. If your code is valid in-store, just quote it at the till.

if you reserve online for store pick up, you can use your Argos vouchers or Argos gift card to pay when collecting your item(s) in store.

This is the AV Forum settings for the 6501, the model up, but it is basically identical and they even recommend just using the same settings. The one thing they said that amazed them about the Philips 2016 series is that they are calibrated professionally out of the box - something most TV sets aren't.

this is tempting! but should I?

i bought this 3 months ago from argos. overall id say its average and i wish id bought the Panasonic's or Samsung's which appear on hukd around the £600/£650 mark. The Picture is not the sharpest and looks washed out even after settings changes, it glitches with random flickering at times (others have reported this issue as well) and blacks are awful. Good points are android OS, amblight (although i dont really notice it anymore), big screen/limited other options at this price. the cheap price comes with compromise.

For the sake of balance, I own this set and am still happy I bought it.
The SD picture performance is much better than I expected but obviously don't use it unless really have to. Full HD is brilliant. I also have a top of the range Samsung plasma and the difference between is not huge.
4K and 4K HDR is great. Have viewed 4K content through the apps on the set, USB and a nividia shield. It might not be true HDR at 10 bit, but for the money it performs well.
Ambilight is two-sided (not the top too) and is a good novelty but can be fairly immersive.
Downsides are some vertical banding can be seen. Football is where I see it but the rest of my family don't notice even though I've pointed it out.
Sound is not great as expected.
So not all owners are regretting the purchase.

I messaged them on FB. Was online only so I could only use 3 vouchers to pay online (stupid maximum limit for no reason at all it seems).
I could not reserve to pick up and pay in store as no option to apply the code to get the reduced price when I went to collect.
I ended up paying all online and only using 3 of the vouchers.

there is a generation of children growing up who have never ever seen a scary socket. might get this to annoy the children and take away their HDMI cable to the ps4.

it has android built in, just install the SMARTIPTV app or KODI and it will :-D

Are there any more codes we can add to this?

people moaning about this should probably weight their expectations. Despite it all, I think this TV is excellent. I had an issue with connectivity to my Sky box but that turned out to be the Sky Q box itself. I've had no other issues with this TV but I'm just a normal person who is amazed by things like TVs automatically switching to a source when it is turned on, and magic lights on the back :P

So had a quick play last night and seemingly it had the latest software on it as when I checked for updates there were none.

Is there a way of loading on any standard apps like ITV Hub, 4OD etc?
I find it quite surprising Kodi is there as standard but some of the usual suspects of catch up are missing.

it's down to the developer of the app to produce said app - they have to weigh up the development and maintenance costs against the user base. Kodi on the other hand is famous for being installable on almost anything, so it's no surprise to see it in the Android TV Play Store.

This or the Hisense H55M7000 55"???

I have this and am very happy with it. Not sure what firmware I have, I've updated it a couple of times in the last few months. Only issue I have is sometimes when I switch hdmi the screen will flicker from one colour setting to another then back. Doesn't happen all the time.

I've had mine for three months now. I agree that the interface is awful. Messy and all over the shop. But that's not the worst thing. The worst thing now is that it keeps resetting itself randomly. We can be watching TV (freesat or apps or HDMI input) and - bang - it resets itself, google intimation logo and, several seconds later, it turns back on again.

Anyone else experiencing this, or have I got a faulty set?

It has Android so have a look in google play store.
eg: siptv.eu/how…id/

have this set and absolutely no issues, update the firmware.

Actually I believe it's down to licensing. But if it's an android TV I can't see you having any problems getting the missing apps

anyone had problems with dead pixels?

KiNG

anyone know if it supports IPTV?

yes since its running android

This runs a TV version of android so some apps will be missing such as itv player and now TV. We bought this telly about 3 months ago and the picture is great. The operating system is a bit laggy at times but for the price I cannot complain. Updates come out quite often too so at least Phillips are trying to make it perform better.

KiNG

A bit late, but yes it has many apps for IPTV, I use Plex, IPTV App and STB emulator app that emulates a MAG box, works great.

Bought it yesterday, TV10 instore. The tv is awesome, I've been watching 4k videos on the YouTube app all day
