That iPhone XR looks nice, from a distance it could pass as the £106 redmi note 5 that I nearly had till eglobal cancelled on me !!

Knew it was only a matter of time till someone came along and had to give their opinion on the value of iPhones. Long story short, us iPhone users simply don't care.

If you want an iPhone where you are constantly moving around with a …If you want an iPhone where you are constantly moving around with a charger and risk obsolence with each iOS upgrade then be my guest. Phones should be cheap, adequately speced , and easily changed/hardware upgraded every year without much damage to your pocket. Android seems to fit that bill.

Ironic that you talk about ‘obsolence’ (obsolescence) via updates when one of Androids main criticisms is terrible long term support.

That’s just your opinion of what phones should be. Just because other people have different priorities, needs, or wants doesn’t mean that they’re wrong in their choice. Some people see the Apple ecosystem as worth the investment. Just because you don’t see the value in it doesn’t make it worthless.

I’ve always used Android, currently have a Nokia 7 Plus and Galaxy Tab S2 so you’re preaching to the wrong choir anyway but the constant shoving of opinion from android users into the throats of iPhone users on this site is boring and unnecessary.

Good Post @Mrswitch

What’s a refurbished phone from Argos like? The little videos on their site gives the impression that grade A may come in near enough perfect condition.
Bought the Nokia 8 from these the other week refurbished but came in perfect condition, love the phone and a 5.3 inch screen, the right size for me.
Any codes to use against this?

Cheers mrswitch and mike33 - I guess the benefit with Argos is easier returns. This is the first time I’ve considered a refurb, so wary about getting something that hasn’t been looked after and being stuck with it.

Yeah, understand the hesitation, but ebay and argos are good for returns, not as described is always a winner for free returns.

I've only ever bought one phone from argos Ebay, it was a moto g6 (not for me) and it came boxed but no accessories
Thanks @mike33 + switchy

Don't be cheeky

I don't wanna say a price, you'll try to knock me up No, seriously, how much is the saving for a mint one? Is it worth bothering with?
Why is the newer XR cheaper than the older X, is it really that bad

Having a quick look at a pristine you csn save £160 off new, but if I had a good look I'd probably find it for less.

Thanks for looking. I smashed my screen a couple of days ago (S7 Edge) and it's £180 from Samsung to replace, so I thought I might take the opportunity to upgrade. I'm happy to keep using it for a while, it's perfectly functional still, unless I come across some irresistible bargain. I've seen a couple of good prices but unsure about the sellers. £637 @ Techinthebasket (seems to have reasonable reviews but no contact number so that usually counts me out) and Wowcamera, contact number but never heard of them.

£735 @ Wow camera but strangely HUKD won't let me edit the price in the right place

You know anything about either of them?

I've had dealings with tech in the basket ebay store heybattery2 before, and they never sent a phone to me that I paid for, got a refund in the end so I personally would never deal with them again.

Wowcamera I've never used, but have heard only good things about them from a couple of postings myself and @adamderak have posted.

They provide a 2 year manufacturer warranty as well, but they are HK based and didn't think you'd be interested. If it were me I'd buy the new from them, but as I say you'll probably get a better bargain refurb.
Bought two items from Argos refurb as grade A
One Lenovo laptop, came with a problem, called Lenovo and Argos had sent them the laptop to fix from a customer under warranty and Lenovo didn’t fix it properly.
So in essence it’s a second hand laptop that’s already been fixed. It also has scuffs and marks

Bought an apple watch came with one or two month outstanding apple warranty indicating it’s been 10 months old, it came used but had charger with it

Hope this helps

I ld have loved to get one returned by someone under the distance selling act under a month old but I don’t believe Argos allow these to be returned once used at all?

Cheers switchy. You're right, I won't bother with HK. They may be fine but I've just got a mental block that I can't see past. I'll have a look at the participating retailers for the free buds promotion, see if any of those are anywhere near.

I see Very are a participating retailer. That's it, sold!
