Will match near enough everything toywise if found cheaper elsewhere, just pop in store or via email, once confirmed they'll refund you the difference.

Not forgetting Argos same day delivery also for £3.95 (https://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/argos-fast-track-same-day-delivery-7-days-a-week-for-only-3-95-2296728), giving Amazon a run for their money.

We don't think you'll be able to find better prices for toys that you can take home today or have sent to you with incredible same-day delivery.
We're so sure, we'll refund the difference if you find the same product cheaper elsewhere.

Prices are matched based on those displayed in a competitor's shop, website or via telephone, if it is the first price quoted on the same day as your purchase from Argos.

Please report the price difference within 14 days of your purchase. If you have paid in-store, just visit our customer service desk with your proof of purchase and evidence that the product was available cheaper from a competitor on the same day you purchased it from Argos. If you have paid online, email us with your query. We will refund the difference once we have confirmed the price is valid.

Individual products must be identical in brand name, model, size and colour and be in stock, rather than available to order only.
If a retailer is in administration or closing down our Toy Price Promise will not apply.

Video games and consoles are not included in our Toy Price Promise.
If the competitor's product is available for delivery the same day, the delivery charge will be counted as part of the price paid.
We will not match prices available via voucher codes.
Products sold as part of a multi-buy, discounted or with a free item will be matched to the cheapest price of each item when sold individually.

Really is, along with their vouchers they often give out, Argos are really on the ball, as with Amazon min p&p at £20 for non prime, should help a lot of people.

Clearly a swipe at Amazon with their available to order stance rather than oos. It is not really going to affect much as Amazon just price match Argos so we are as we were...

I got a Lego set price matched with a coupon discount. when the additional voucher was taken into account it was cheaper than Amazon.

Race to the bottom.

Amazon's treatment of employees is not something most people would want to experience at work, and Argos has a long history of reducing worker benefits, paying the minimum wage, employing people for just a few hours a week to avoid NI and pension costs, and using free labour from the dole office.

Obviously Amazon are thinking long term and are convinced they must force people into their locked eco system. All they are really doing is playing into the oppositions hands. I would like to guess how much business they've given away this last year or two, much more so this year.

reads like you have to be able to get the toys today, so rules out most website unless they offer same day delivery?

bring it on argos!! they are masterminding the high Street and are bound to improve sales with their recent tictacs and can have my pound at the moment

Yep likewise. Seems a bit vague. And how can you provide historical evidence that the product was available cheaper from a competitor on the same day you purchased it from Argos?? Not sure how that works unless you do it on the day.

I didn't know they sold tic tacs

Will they price match if the item is out of stock in your closest Smyths store but in stock in a store further away do you think?
Currently after the Fisher Price dancing robot for Xmas... its way cheaper in Smyths but out of stock in Bristol, they do have it in Cardiff. Now wondering if Argos will match that?

My thoughts as well. Most companies that do same day delivery will charge a hell of a lot more than Argos.

I think they've only done this to avoid people returning items and buying elsewhere. An item slightly reduced is better than an item returned.

You could still return the item for a full refund even after 14 days (usually 28 days), the 14 days only applies to the price match.

It's sounds like they're trying to offer a safety net but the biggest safety net for customers is their returns policy.

There are always jobs available. If you can't find work, you're not trying hard enough.

can you imaging the queue of people at the customer service in each store when they open in new year lol

what's the point? if they only match you might aswell get it from the original as your most likely get cash back via Topcash or quidco and also save valuable time of you life not having to provide loads of details besides I expect there's so many hoops to jump through to get it ie must be in stock etc personally couldn't be arsed with the hassle, not a deal in my eyes if they beat the price then maybe

I dont know, everything i buy at argos lately its "void" from the 30 day money back guarantee.

I returned an Item in store I bought on line about 27 days after purchase with no issues apart from the cashier didn't know how to process the refund due to it been an online order.

jokes on you as mine actually does

Do they not price match there and then?

Argos just created many many new jobs with their new delivery service.

Also please tell me why you think operating a till should command anything more than the minimum wage? I worked for Argos on a xmas contract about 17 years ago when I was a youngster. Found them excellent

Or you could just buy it from the place selling it cheaper in the first place rather than the one charging more?

I'm always dubious regarding these type of deals . Do us British actually try and "haggle" when going into a shop like Argos, over a couple of quid ? . No ... No we don't

Edited by: "johnmcglinchey" 18th Oct 2015

What's the point in this. why not just buy it somewhere else if it's cheaper? maybe if argos refunded do u ke the difference they may then deserve my custom!

They also do a 16 day money back guarantee on some items.
I might post that as a deal.
Or nah.

This would be interesting when they have the 3 4 2 on toys again (next one I presume is November),

I think its a great deal. I for one like to shop around, but we have no stores like Smyths or the Entertainer near us but have several Argos stores.

its all legal, right?
so why don't you ask this to your beloved elected government and not to these stores or any other such companies as they are not doing anything wrong...
its your beloved politicians working for you hard day n night.
thank you.

I have an idea. Rather than Argos having a price promise strategy with loads of exclusions. Alongside their existing snide returns policy where many items are excluded from it.
Instead why not just always be the cheapest, employ competent pricing teams to keep on top of it and also offer a returns process as good if not better than Distance Selling Regulations.
The last thing anyone wants at Chtistmas is a huge queue of shoppers chasing £1.53 price match back when Smyths next door reduced a price. Get it right first time or don't bother.

COLD because it is Argos nonsense. A company with a business model of selling stock they don't have, or have like 3 off in x/y/z store 563 miles away. So say they have the item you want (1 in 10 chance if its a toy or electrical item at a decent price), then you have to go through their price match policy hassle. No thanks, I really despise Argos!

Does anyone know if this covers the kurio smart, currently £20 in smyths also available in store so not bad if they match it as the current £10 voucher would still apply.

In this climate you really cant to be picky about what job you want especially if it is a low skilled one .Unless you have worked minimum wage you have no idea how companies take advantage knowing full well that employees are pretty much stuck with them due to the job market.

Typical response from someone who is either from an older generation where jobs where more freely available or has never actually had a job.

Where I work I am basically doing the supervisor role and I get paid minimum wage for under 21s.The people on the till are getting paid more than me (most are over 21)for doing less its a disgrace. The government needs to rethink the minimum wage for under 21s it shouldn't be allowed I could have 4 years experience and still be paid minimum wage for under 21s whereas someone who has never held down a job could walk in and make more than me because they are 21.All you are doing is saying to the young is don't bother with a job until your 21.

They don't have exclusions now

Anyone know if the refund of difference is cash or in Argos vouchers? Also can you then return the item? I've bought something £20 cheaper at symths so thinking I might buy it, get the difference and then return the item?
