wow. thats a nice price for a 5.1

1 Watt RMS!!!!???????????

You would do better with a 1970's Amstrad Radio with a 2" speaker!!!

Do yourselves a favour and leave this WELL ALONE!!!

This will sound like 5 laptop speakers, all around you. I.e terrible, truely terrible. COLD even at £1

5 watt sub. That's one bad boy.

If you like friends buy it now.

is this compatible with the ps3?

just turn the tele up !

A mate of mine has this. The sound quality is, erm, what's the word? That's it. Crap.

I guess it's still worth £15 though if you want 5.1 and are on a tight budget, so it still deserves heat.

I bought this the last time it was on offer. It's not completely awful if you know how to set your sound up correctly.

It is however surround sound for one person only.

I have the rear speakers taped to the wall just behind me but before that I just taped them to the back of the chair which is just at the right height.

You really need to be playing your source material from something that can act as a pre-amp, i.e. can play back the sound at greater than 100%

I use KMPlayer and with it notched up to 400% and the surround settings on my pc card set properly it gives useable surround sound.

I'd say for £15 as long as you understand that it's a one person only set up at your PC then it's not bad value.

^^ A good explanation but I suspect your last comment is the decider.

Those that know how to setup their surround sound properly would know better than to buy this set, while those that buy this set probably don't know much about surround sound other than putting speakers all around them.

Surrounded by ****. Not particularly tempting.
Probably a similar experience to walking past the chavs outside McDonalds cranking their 'tunes' on their phones.

I bought a set of these a while back to hook up to my bluray player in the bedroom (using it's 5.1 outputs), and I was pleasantly surprised by the quality - no they aren't that powerful, but they go loud enough for my liking without distortion (and are definitely an improvement over the 2 channel speakers built into the tv). As far as I remember if you connect to a 2 channel input it just mixes the sound to the four speakers equally with the sub still carrying the base. Just in case anyone was wondering, the inputs are via 3x 3.5mm stereo plugs, the 3 cables to connect to a PC sound card are included.
