take it on holiday with you, live on toasties for a week/fortnight

extra money saved for boozing, sorted

NHS liver transplant when you get home

No harm done

We had this, worked fine for a bit, then the bread started to stick. Spend a bit more to get one that lasts.

Reserved thankyou.
Cheese and bean toasties here we come!!

Don't do it!!! spend a little more!!! I bought this a few years ago and the toasties were rubbish. Doesn't cook all over (no toasty crunchy bits round the edges?!) takes and age, decides it got too hot and doesn't come one.... I made about 3 or 4 sarnies and dumped it in the bin. I'm sure even a half decent £10-er would be a huge improvement.

hope this helps

Those reviews though...

get a tesco health grill - £19.50 although link says higher

I'd spend a little more and get one of the flat ones - cafe style - the breville ones are posted here sometimes. Bread, thick or thin, rolls, pitta, anything really - and so easy to clean!

What do you put in a Toaster?

You could just learn how to make them in a frying pan

Bread!

At these prices I guess this is a throw-away item, which is just as well 'cos that's exactly what you'll be doing a few months after buying it. Been there, done that etc. The Breville VST 025 is about the best around at the moment, but costs 6 times this price.
Not voting cold as it's silly money (how anyone makes any worthwhile profit baffles me) - just don't expect much.

they are called panini now

i remember the days when you could smoke a reffa without freeking and eat tons of toasties without putting weight on, now that would be a deal!

Absolutely rubbish compared to a panini toaster...

I'm on my second Breville (first one broke due to my fault) with flat non-stick plates and the thing is absolutely brilliant.. wipes clean... perfect results everytime.. as good as any cafe toasted andwichs and you can use it for many various breads and other purposes you can think of where hot plates !

This is the one I've got http://www.amazon.co.uk/Breville-VST025-Sandwich-Press/dp/B0048EJQBS/ref=sr_1_1?s=kitchen&ie=UTF8&qid=1400170540&sr=1-1

But I didn't pay that much for it... they often come up for £15-20 and last for years...

will look great next to my smoothie maker, bread maker, waffle maker, steamer and fruit juicer in the back of the cupboard

This is definitely the sort of product you don't want to skimp on. I had a cheap one before and the clasp that holds the lid down when toasting broke off so you literally couldn't toast any more. If you're bothered about toasted sandwiches then spend £20 minimum imo and you'll get a decent sandwich!

yes definitely a throw away one. I had a cheap toastie and most of the cheese ends up coming out the sides, including all over the
cable, and the worktops. after finding it very un-hygienic and no cheese in my toastie it was time to bin it..
I agree, buy a better one..

These are rubbish, there not big enough for the filling, we brought one and it squeezed the filling out and tasted rubbish.
