Was looking at these, price seems good.
I believe the camera is battery which lasts for months on a single charge??
Anyone used this as I'm very interested.

On paper yes. In practice no. Lots of complaints about poor battery life on this 1st gen model.
Still voted hot.

I haven't used these but I'm waiting to see what happens with Blink XT as they have been bought by Amazon.

Integration with Echo Spot doesn't exist yet, but common sense dictates it will.
I've got two standard cameras and one pro (you can add on units) and the pro version is heads above the standard one with built-in rechargeable batteries and two way mic also the quality of the picture is better at night. The standard version is good the battery life averages about a month depending how long you set record time for and battery replacement is costly unless you buy rechargeable ones.
I had the three pack of these and installed them externally. As they are battery powered, they only switch on and record when they detect motion. However, in my experience, by the time the camera and switched on after detecting motion, the event (thing that triggered it) had gone from view - mine would record the postman leaving the front door but not coming towards it, even though the same path used.

I did send them back to Amazon though with no issues - so maybe, as this a good price, it is worth the risk - some uses may work more successfully.
These really need to be plugged in at the mains so they capture everything. Im personally debating whether i should get the Pro 2 but its like £500 for 2 cameras and a hub!!

How much better is the night vision on the pro? I'm not really really impressed with the night vision in my Arlo. Also any idea if the pro 2 is any better?

Will the arlo pro cameras work with the original arlo hub?
Any cheap additional cameras for this system available

I am not prime and just ordered!
Got the 3 Cameras version.would go for them again?NO NO NO.
Woting hot for the price
Amazon also sell wireless CCTV signal jammers...think about it.
The Blink system is far superior to this. Fully wireless with up to 2 YEARS battery life. The XT cameras work outside. Excellent product. They have recently been bought by Amazon.

It depends how much activity is going on where the camera is facing.
Perfect, watched masked thieves raid your home in comfort.
I've read mixed reviews on these cameras, from battery life to a delay in recording starting when motion is detected. Apparently when the camera actually starts recording, the person in view has already disappeared
Thought I'd give some feedback on the Arlo battery life discussion. I have one setup in the living room and one on the garden. Scheduled on when we're out.

I bought ours in September last year, just checked my email to confirm this and also did a bat check; living room is at 66% and Garden is at 62%.

They aren't triggered that often and I occasionally check the live feed if my paranoia thinks it heard a noise!

In the end it does depend so much on where you put them and how much activity they see. This isn't a CCTV replacement and if you place them to record lots of motion they aren't gonna last.

I've got 3. Two get a lot of traffic and the batteries lasted about 4 to 6 months. Rear garden gets less traffic and is still on 33% battery 9 months later. Bought nitecore rechargeable batteries for the other two and these last about 2-3 months before they need a charge.

I love the state. It works great as you can just pick the cameras up and move them about. Best of all there's no monthly charge for cloud storage.
I bought a 'Wansview' wireless camera. It's great colour picture in daytime & clear IR at night. I have it on my phone but you can use it on any laptop, tablet & so on. Useing the phone I can take still photos & movies with it. It cost around £33-00. I does need a mains connection, but through the window or outside connection makes that a minor issue.

Which wansview model did you buy?
I don't know whether to get nest or blink. Not impressed with the nest subscription tho! Any recommendations?
I wouldn’t recommend any netgear cctv products due to the way netgear treat there loyal customers. I bought there offering before arlo which was called vuezone. They discontinued vuezone and haven’t updated the app on iOS to the point if you have the lastest iOS you can not access your cameras this way. They also stated they would end all support for the subscription service leaving the cameras unless. Until the customers kicked off on the forums and they decided to reverse there decision. They ignore any complaints around the current vuezone system and have left customers in the dark. In the USA they offered an upgrade option to buy referb units when they trade in old but nothing for uk customers. I assume they will do the same to the arlo customers in the uk and I expect them to leave arlo customers in the dark in the next few years. Avoid netgear cctv products!

Nope they won't work
I’ve had these for years and found them very good
I get 6 months battery life out of them but as someone said earlier it’s all about the activity on them
Use the schedules and geofencing and they work great but if they record to much you’d be lucky to get a month out of them

'Wansview Wireless Security Camera 720P Outdoor IP Camera Wifi' from Amazon. There is a black one around £35-00 & a White one around £33-00. I'm very pleased with mine. The customer service is good as well.

I know these claim to be completely Wireless, the camera running from a battery, but is there not an option to power the camera from a cable? I was thinking of getting one for locating in my main living area and geofencing it for when I’m away from home, the location I’m considering has access to a power socket so would be ideal, with minimal cabling required.

I think the advantage of the Arlo offer above most of its competitors is that you get more storage history. I.e some will only keep your camera clips for a couple of days unless you pay for additional storage plan. Arlo gives you a lot longer without a plan. So in the long run you don't find yourself with an on going financial commitment.

God, there's a load of people spouting nonsense about these cameras on this thread. Read this taken from the Arlo website...

"Arlo Wire-Free, Arlo Pro, and Arlo Pro 2 Wire-Free cameras and base stations are completely compatible with one another."

Can't be much clearer than that can it?!
Why would you want to use one with a old hub and lose features no alarm no local recording
