I have never played this. Some say it is more like a simulation? But I loved and completed Operation Flashpoint and Rainbow 6 so is this like those?
Seems to be some new content coming later in the year so an offer for that dlc bundle 2.
Any thoughts on single player campaigns? Or is it just random stuff with a steep learning curve?

I bought the main bundle ages back (all except for Apex) installed the game, tried out and failed miserably in the tutorial 2nd mission....several times. I'm always shot dead before I can even see anyone when getting attacked among the trees.....didn't have the patience to finally manage to crack it
I then thought soddit and tried to jump into multiplayer, to get a huge list of servers to connect to, and think pretty much all I tried failed, presumably because I didn't have x or y mod installed and so on - very frustrating
Yet....I'm still tempted to buy the Apex update that's currently on special offer
Not sure but I think I read that higher specc'd machine were required to increase view distance and you needed a strong multicore cpu.
I play on an I5, though it's OC'd to 4.5ghz. At the time I was playing maxed out settings (well apart from AA from memory).....I think it was more just me being cr** at the game
On looking more into it, it seems the reason I may not have been able to join a multitude of the servers I did try, was likely down to me needing Apex DLC too.
I'm sure should I hunker down enough and spend the time it'll be great.....but getting the time is harder as get older
Annoying as hell. I had the same issue when I tried to play a while back, there didn't seem to be any real populated servers that weren't running a Life or GTA mod, or some random DLC.
Managed a few decent games along the way with a friend, but it all became too tiresome to quickly to find a game - it seems you need to either be inately involved in the community to access private servers or have every MOD under the sun as they're not all clearly advertised as such.
If you're expecting Battlefield levels of ease I'd suggest playing a demo or at very least a tutorial on YouTube, there's literally HUNDREDS of load out options, which sounds great, but in practice it's definitely not a game for casuals, nor one you can have a quick blast on for an hour.
Sounds like my kinda night enjoy.
I did see now theres quick search for match types. I managed to get straight into a "deathmatch" game, but then a few of the other modes I tried I just got errors that unable to find games to join.....surprisingly bad for a quick play feature
On browsing the server lists, at least I now see that bottom right list of what dlc etc is used, so have something to go by, but for now will work through the single player.......to decide whether to get Apex or not hmmm
