Armed Forces Day: Free carvery for all personnel

It’s Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24 June, so to show our support for all our fantastic military personnel, Toby Carvery will be serving free carvery dinners to members of the British Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.

If this includes you, or someone you know, simply Get Your Voucher and show it when you order a roast or alternative main meal on 24 June, along with military ID or a Defence Privilege Card*.

Armed Forces Breakfast Club

For military personnel who can’t attend, your local Toby Carvery will be hosting a Veterans Breakfast Club all week from Monday 19th June until Friday 23 June, where former and current members of the Armed Forces enjoy breakfast for just £1 when booked in advance. Please make sure to show your valid Military ID, Defence Privilege Card or Veterans badge to enjoy this offer

Don't be cross It's only a £6.99 meal I'm offered for free. I still have to purchase my drink tho, that should make you happy.

Any student discount

Why would there be a student discount if it's for Serving and Ex Forces members?

Think i may have to go for my breakfast there instead of Ikea this week
This makes me so very cross.
what does?

In a country where almost everything runs on how much profit everyone can make off each other, it's nice to see someone giving something away for free to people who stand strong for the rest of us.

Just a shame we don't see it more often would definitely make us think more of others and not the greed that drives practically everything nowadays.
What a great thing to do for people who serve our wonderful country, its a shame this isn't extended to all emergency services too especially given what is happening on home soil at the moment and the great lengths they go to saving lives.

Our emergency services have show themselves as heroes these last few weeks, it's a pity they haven't been included.

It's not 'free', it's good marketing and likely to deliver an overall profit due to extra business from people who approve of supporting the armed forces.

Like me :-)

Why be so cynical? Of course it is free; I may even dig out my veteran's badge and take advantage it it.
And this is why I don't travel home in kit anymore because of uneducated half wits. Great news, I'll be enjoying my sunday dinner. Thanks
Does UOTC count ??

Whatever your views are on the army and that, can we not all unite behind the undeniable fact that carvery place are absolutely ****?
Here's me thinking this was about free mediocre food?

There's some **** idiots on here spouting a lot of **** that has nothing at all to do with either this website or this deal.
Pubs with no beer. If you like your "real" cask conditioned ales, you will be disappointed.
I rest my case.
I'm ex military, may or may not take advantage of the deal and appreciate the fact that military have fought long an hard on many occasions to allow all to have the freedom of speech to express opinions as shared on this thread.

I don't agree with much of it and will not waste bandwidth in responding to some of the ridiculous stuff that has been posted. Also hope that Toby will have an Emergency Services offer of a similar nature in the near future.
chucklebros

Without the armed forces, you could not freely express that opinion.

I was in the Army ...
Voted cold for obvious reasons.
Can student discount be applied?
Probably best to stay clear of the one in Aldershot. There may be quite a long queue.

You'll be enjoying your Sunday dinner? What on a Saturday? 'Uneducated half wits'? You aren't kidding.
Mrbeansdrivinginstructor is very cross that for one day, armed forces personnel can have a free roast, I'm truly intrigued as to why that would make you cross

This makes me so very cross.

What does? :0 I don't like what our armed forces have to do for a living and would like to see and end to ALL war and the invasion of other people's countries for oil etc but the men and women that suit up deserve our respect for being fellow human beings let alone soldiers and if tobies or any other franchise decides to offer free food to servicemen on 'armed forces day' I don't see how that's is anybody else's business..

heated.

I think he's aware of what day it is! :0

The 'roast' is considered 'sunday dinner' in England.. I guess panda's are oblivious to this? It's a culture thing that is clearly getting lost
Correct me if I am wrong, but reading the details of the offer, it appears that veterans and serving members could get the breakfast offer but only serving members the carvery?
