These are perfect for highlighting where I'd like to shoot the cyclists …These are perfect for highlighting where I'd like to shoot the cyclists who ride on the road, right next to a specially built cycle lane.

Depends on the bike. mountain bikes and hybrids belong in cycle lanes, but on road bike ploughing along at 25 and 30mph cyclists should be on a road as cycle lanes have recommended max speed limits of 8 - 15mph.. If I remember rightly even the highway code says cyclists traveling over 15mph should be on the road

Reminds me of the time I had piles

Id rather mix with cars than pedestrians any day.

Why would a retailer show a photo of the item inside out?

I cycle and my speed is completely variable, from quite slow uphilling to 30mph+ downhill. My average commute speed is 13.8mph. It's true that doing 30MPH in a cycle lane is anti-social because it upsets slower riders. But after many years the best advice is to keep separation from high energy objects as much as possible. 40 tonne HGV at 50mph = 10 MegaJoules so I just take it easy. Nobody at the destination likes a sweaty stinker turning up anyway.

What is comical when you are on a cycle path next to a main road and there's one of the lycra bell ends on a pinarello in all the gear and goggles, toe clips etc going along the main road, and I'm going up the cycle lane in a big jacket, jeans and normal work shoes and I leave him behind.

Trouble is, around my way, it's obvious those involved from the council don't cycle and they didn't consult with any cyclists when designing and building them so they're completely inconvenient and badly designed.

Yet the majority of hgv vs bike deaths happen at very low speeds - infact most commonly when the hgv is turning left.

Those wearing suitable kit for what they are doing is sensible - the lycra, as silly as it looks (even chris hoy thinks the majority of people look silly), means no chaffing and is better to deal with all weather - very much unlike your jeans - can't help but point out that mountain rescue note jeans as one of the signs to an ill equiped possible victim they may have to help later.

Would suggest you check out some training schedules that those seriously following their hobby are likely to be up to (on a 3 to 6k bike it is likely they are fairly serious to this hobby) - going past someone deliberately going as slow as they can on their schedule or on a high cadence set is funnily enough not challenging.

Also, fortunately, some of us have work provided facilities like showers, lockers and changing rooms meaning no need to go in slowly and then overspray in an attempt mask.
