Don't trust the inflated RRP of £99.99 which it's never been. This is in fact the highest price it's been, so unfortunately not a deal

Not sure I'd trust a phone powerbank to start a car battery...

Not sure if that's a bad joke or a stupid comment :/

You do realise these small lithium power banks are much more powerful than the old huge lead acid jumper packs ? Daft comment

Not sure if I would start my phone with this poof
We've got one of these, probably not the same brand.. Amazing little boxes
Very handy and capable thing these jump starters. Definitely a game changer over the old lead acid alternatives that weigh a ton.
I brought this one for £14.99 I think.

amazon.co.uk/gp/…c=1

Ive used it to jump started 6 petrol cars so far in 3 years.
It’s 12000mah and works a treat.
I'm looking for something similar with a 12v auxiliary output to power a 12v pump/ 110 watts
I have similar one for a very old disability car that gets used every 3 months usually with winch left on so dead battery amazing things

they do work, but not sure i'd trust an 8 amp hour one (8000mAh = 8Ah) to do the job. Have a look on youtube, they can certainly do the job. It's not soooo much the capacity as the amount of amps it can deliver in a short burst of time ... but having said that ... still 8Ah is pretty poor because you can get 90Ah ones on ebay for £38 ... e.g. this
Will these jump start a total dead battery?
These are a lifesaver!!!
This thing is brilliant but been this price for ages

We have a rubbish battery on our car and in this cold weather and minimal use it doesn't start frequently.
I bought this one few months back and it's successfully started my Quashqai 3 times now

Yes.

I have a different brand, but these have started the car despite the battery being dead.

I must admit I was sceptical that these battery packs could start a car, but they do work. Just make sure you get one suitable for your car, especially if a diesel.

That looks really nice, any idea of it could jump a motorbike too?

If the bike is not in regular use consider a optimate like This
I got one of these not the same brand did not start my car fully but it gave it a good go, it did kick all my electrics and and try 4 times to start my engine but it would not turn over and stay started, though I did leave the car for a month so the battery was dead dead and the car is mostly electronics from the push button start to the digital dash so in all fairness it prolly would of started a less electronic intensive car.

Yep, I’ve cold-cranked a Nissan GTR from dead with one of these before, you’d be surprised how much peak current it can muster up even for complex and large engine cars!No wonder people laugh about it being ‘just a power bank’!
If you know you have a failing battery on your car just buy a new one,for those who infrequently use a car and are unable to keep it on charge just visit a car breakers and for a few pounds buy a second battery to keep indoors for jump starting. These type of pocket sized devices have limited capacity and need regular top up charges, the way ahead is to use a super capacitor bank jump starter, they are called batteryless starters, there are several models available on the sealey tools website, providing there is some amount of charge in the battery they will deliver a greater amount of cranking amps on demand.

Quick tell Elon about it!

The size and weight (and price) give away it's not 90Ah. It would need 30x3000mAh 18650 cells in it. So would be 3 times the size and 3 times the weight (18650 cells weigh 40-50g each).

The final giveaway is the first pic says 26000mAh. So probably 8x3250mAh cells which makes the size and weight spot on.

Depends on the car, pretty sure this is the one I had and it wouldn't start a V6 with a totally flat battery.

I think the daftness are people like you who leave their lights on thus requiring a battery jumper in the first place.

Where did i say i leave my lights on ? Where did i say i own a jumper ?
I dont own one and i dont leave my lights on, i was making a simple observation that you commented on something you haven't got a clue about which could cause someone else like you to not buy one, thinking its not fit for purpose.
Now in comment above your just agreeing to try prevent yourself looking daft 👏

Mine doesn't - in the small print it says if the car battery has less than 20% charge it will not start the car - kind of defeats the object!
Wasn't aware of this type of jump starter. Thanks for the post. I may get one if it comes back down in price.

They're great - I have the lidl one - but they're great because of the size and convenience. A big lead-acid jumper pack - or just a big battery and a good set of jump leads - will start things that these won't.
