Apologies if this has been posted and i know its not a deal but was not sure where to post, but thought people would like to know.

I have just found out that as of 2nd Jan 09 all freedom pass holders can travel for free inside London at any time (the 0930- 11pm i think no longer applies in london!)

''24 hour Elderly Freedom Pass acceptance on TfL services (buses, tube, trams and DLR) and English National Concessionary Bus Pass acceptance on TfL bus services will start on 2 January 2009''

Hope this helps someone as i was not aware of it and i work in the industry! :-)

Excellent, thanks for posting - I will let my dear old Mum know as sometimes she has had to pay in the morning for being a couple of minutes too early getting on the bus!

no worries. Im 26 so doesnt apply to me.....but thought someone may benefit from the post

Heat added, nice to see someone looking out for our older members

this was agreed before johnson was elected so dont credit him for this

This is not “free”
Some poor chap is paying for it though their taxes.

If you think about it, it is theft.

Should note - this only seems to be for Londoners, not oldies from anywhere else

Like free schooling or free healthcare, I suppose?

yeah, well the under 16's travel in London for free too, & I know which age group I think its more important to look after- & no, its not the kids!
I don't mind my fare subbing the elderly, but why am I paying for the under 16's?
