The link shows the clock as listed, but I bought one for £7.99 in the Canterbury store, and it appears to be a standard price. It seems well made, it works a treat, and it looks good. Cheapest equivalent on Amazon is £12.99 (Acctim). Both, of course, are made in China!

Radio controlled clock rules. I now use them throughout my flat. Saves a lot of trouble.

Have three - different models - bought from Tchibo over the years. Cannot understand why so expensive when on sale in High Street shops

Totally agree with you :-)

Does anyone know how loud these tick? I was looking for similar for a bedroom. But would only be interested if it was (almost) silent.

two of them are silent.

you can tell because it says "silent"

OP do you not understand how Aldi works? That was in their twice weekly deals back in December 2012! Most will have gone that week. OK, so your local shop had a few left so there's a worthwhile reduction but highly unlikely to be in another Aldi by now.

Well done for you but doubtful 'deal'.

I bought an Ascot weather station at Christmas from Aldi which stopped working. Aldi would not replace it because the "external thermometer" had been left outdoors in weather that was too cold! Do not buy!

Maybe I understand Aldi better than you - in my experience, MANY Aldi deals persevere for weeks - my store had a huge stack of these, and I expect many other Aldis do too. Even if it isn't 'national' (ie in every store), that doesn't make it a bad deal for those who can find it.

And it wasn't sticky labelled, it was displayed (with it's lower price) just like the current deals - unlike many of the 'remaindered offers'.

At this price, it's certainly worth taking a look ...

You registered just to post that?

I simply don't believe you. Looks like I got me a stalker!

I got one of these over xmas at £11.99 from Aldi. It's a fantastic clock and i may get another for 8 quid.

I have 2 radio controlled clocks in my house. Love them - apart from when one occasionally decides we live in Germany (we live in South West) and scares the **** out of me when I think I've overslept an hour

I know, that couple of minutes a year changing the hour on my clocks leaves me completely exhausted.

I bought a Lidl radio controlled clock a couple of weeks ago....and it didnt pick up the atomic time signal...which it reads from Frankfurt.UK clocks read the NPL time signal from cumbria...and my other radio controlled clocks work fine......So just be aware...if you do buy one and it doesnt work......

Are there really any benefits in a Radio Controlled clock to a standard one that justifies spending the extra? (_;)

Do you mean apart from it being radio controlled and so showing exactly the right time? No can't think of any

It's not much extra for the accuracy it gives you - most electric clocks - even quite pricey ones - lose or gain a few minutes over a year - enough to be annoying.

Plus it saves those vital 10 seconds when the time changes for summer time

Tell me about it: my £1500 watch loses 2 minutes a day and Omega want £400 to service it!

Good deal, but I do not want a clock to control my radio, my wife keeps changing the bloody channel as it is......
This could get far too (or is that fart-oo) confusamaling !
oO

I've had a radio controlled clock for years, it still manages to lose a couple of minutes every so often!
