The shops around where I live have been selling semi skimmed milk for months at 89p so for me its ice cold unless Asda milk is special!

Maybe you have been buying 1 litre/2 pints for 89p as the average supermarket price for the 1 litre is 86p

I usually get this at Morrisons and its around the £1.10 mark. Great tasting as well.

£1 for 4 pints in Sansburys, its 1% fat but tastes fine in Tea and Rice Krispies

30p saved x twice per week = £31.20/year. Seems like a good deal to me.

Might save you that if you own a cattery, but me thinks normal people don't drink that much milk!!! :whistling:

Good deal though lol so heat added

I think investment in a cow is a good idea in this current situation!

Well I'm going to take the Sainsburys Milk and save an extra 11p twice a week. Thats an amazing £1144 saving over the Asda Milk!

Will a cat do? We have lots of cats in our neighbourhood.

Oops, got my maths wrong! Should have been £31.20 saved per year. That's still one week worth of food shopping for me.

Where does 2p come into it ???

Another one that ***** off good posts but fails to make any decent contributions themselves
Well Done alecb 2 posts in a year, more minus degrees than plus and you have the nerve to tell me to get a life.

its weird they chose the litre system as opposed to the pint system

No its not, alot of people just pick them up not realising they are 2 litre, i bet if you asked most people whould think its 4 pints

Imperial ftw.

a good deal like Farm Foods equivalent for 2 Litre but for me the Sainsburys one percent semi skimmed deal ( 4 PINTS ) is in a league of its own...

Thanks for this. My local Asda had no Cravendale semi skimmed, the usual 4 pints units and these 2 litre ones which were not priced. Because I had read this post before I went out, I was able to stock up on a few.

voted hot, buy lots of milk, usually around 8litres per week, so will save quite a few pennies, thanks for the post, i would have missed it otherwise and just picked up my usual asda semi.

sainsburys milk is better value at £1 as you get 4 pints!! that 24p a pint!!

What price are their calculators?
If Sainsburys sold their semi-skimmed milk at 4 pints for a pound, that would make it 25p per pint. ;-)

However, Sainsburys, semi-skimmed milk actually costs £1.53 for a 4 pint (2.27l) container.

The stuff they are flogging at a pound has almost half the amount of fat of semi-skimmed (and semi-skimmed doesn't have much!), and 10% less protein.
