25th July - tent has been pitched in the garden for a couple of days. I can report it's waterproof in heavy rain showers, though was a little daunted by the message in the instructions inside the bag that said waterproof only in light rain "do not use in storms"!!
It seems from the comments below that some stores have started to reduce camping gear before others, so if your local Asda is still full price lets hope there's still a chance you'll get a chance sometime soon.
I couldn't find pic online and have taken pic of bag, it has a full flysheet and wraps around front to create porch.
This tent mentioned in another post re Asda camping sale (Keelyc below) but searching for tent doesn't find it so I've listed it here separately. There were four left at my local Asda. Weighs 6.4 kg. It has a porch front, groundsheet and mesh inner tent with separate flysheet. It says build time 5mins!? claims 2000 hydrostatic head and taped seams. It has bright yellow guy ropes. I couldn't find any decently written reviews but some mentioned/complained about getting wet and poles breaking. I would just say take care to support the structure by setting the ropes well and make sure the fly and inner are kept apart. A tenner seems a great deal. Comes in a bag that appears to be the same material as the tent so you can have a feel at that if you find one in store.

I'm not surprised people complain about getting wet, from the picture, it doesn't seem that the flysheet covers the tent inner! It's cheap yes, you can expect to pay at least £20 for a cheap single man tent, but given the vagaries of the British climate, is it worth it?

I bought a 2 man ozark trail tent from asda for £12 in the sales 4years ago (blue and yellow). I've been away many tiles in some very testing conditions and it still holds up well, never let water or snapped a pole. I have re waterproofed this year for first time after a stormy wet April weekend in tiree. Would recommend these tents all day long and will be off to try snap another up myself

where is your local asda????

The last time I went 'camping' was in my best mate's back garden. We were 10 and it was fun to tell each other stories about the bogieman.

Still £40 at the till in Southport Store -nothing discounted at all.

the pic originally just appeared when i posted and was not of the actual tent, i have now updated but it's so small in the 'get deal' box, and i don't have photobucket to post in comments so people can see it better/larger

£36 in my local Asda (Portadown)

hi is this advertised at £10 on the shelf or just when put through the till, thanks in advance xx

I asked to check the price through the till and it was £36, £4 off. This is obviously not nationwide but probably optional to stores if they need the space badly etc.

It is listed as £40 in my store does it scan at £10?

Try some uk stores (_;)

Still 40 at the till Manchester Eastlands

Nearest asda to me is miles away. Sainsbury and tesco are the only ones the council allowed to battle it out.

Heat for not referring to it as a '4 man tent'.

If this is the correct tent, then I think my comments still apply. I don't know why you've posted a picture of the bag, it's what's in it that matters

you were very observant with spotting that the original picture that someone applied to my post had some kind of serviette and useless flysheet and this picture too is not the tent. Because I couldn't post a bigger pic I updated the first sentence of the post. and if you peer equally observantly! at the pic of the bag! you will see a photo of a green/grey tent with front porch and full fly. If I had photobucket or there was an easier way to post the proper pic of the tent I would have done so. AND as I also wrote I was unable to find a pic on the www. and neither have you. I salute the eagle eyed and valid observation you originally made though most everyone would have missed that, you obviously know your tents. I can't even see a way to send you my pic either.

I think you really should have a picture of the tent! I can't really see what it is from the small icon, why can't you post a link? Personally, I would never buy a tent without knowing what it actually looked like, but I don't need a tent at the moment and you've got a heat of almost 500 anyway, so, who cares?

Got one at my asda for £12 but it's only 1700 not 2000 . Ok for hitting the beach with the kids

Bought one today. It was marked up at £10, down from £20. It should be national.
