Found 31st Mar 2010Made hot 31st Mar 2010
In Asda last night (Isle of Dogs) and by the door were two huge displays of baking potato 4-packs for just 10p. Loads more could be found with the fresh veg.

Cashier confirmed it's a nationwide deal.

That's 4 jacket potatoes for 10p - These were dated BBE April 5th so not short dated.

Still 70p per pack online.

This will be baking hot in no Time

coupla tins of beans, some tuna and a few packs of these would make a nice dinner, and mega cheap-might even treat the dalmation to a baked potato at this price!

If they were by the front of the store it was a store specific offer. Maybe they ordered too many.

Wow what a great bargain. Going to Asda later so will check this out. Thanks!

How on earth can they afford to do this??

ewww i never eat cheap food.

I guess it gets people in to the store to pick a pack up and do the rest of their shopping while they're there. I'm sure they're making a loss, but 4 jacket potatoes can't cost a lot more than 10p to asda

Not "short-dated"? With less than a week till Best Before date I would disagree, sir.

To be selling fresh produce on the 30th March, with a BBE date 6 days ahead would not be classed as short dated in somewhere like Asda - surely?

Yes I agree. My local Tesco did this recently with tomatoes. Def store specific so sorry - not voting on this one.

.

I`m with you - these potatoes will taste MUCH nicer when they are back to 70p

Urgh, I love baked potatoes with loads of cheese. So does my gut, unfortunately =_=

It's a potato! It's best before date is the day it starts looking past its best. A bit like those I grow or those in the 25KG sack I sometimes buy.

Did'nt have these in the stockport branch, and that was about 3 o'clock today :?

Then you are fortunate but many of us have to make ends meet by seeking out bargains where we can find them - just because something is on sale doesn't mean it's not as good as full price!

Excellent. Have some rep!

Great price, thanks

Must be a local deal - Asda in Queensferry just charged me £0.70 for these...

I don't agree with the person who said Eww I never eat cheap food. So if these were £2 you'd buy? Weird.

think about that again, if you were stuck on an island with nothing to eat apart from a cheap potato, you would rather die than eat the potato?

70p today in local asda.

Just been - paid 70p in my local Asda.
