must be weekend release for you then

what's the white muck coming out from cheap pork when you cook it? Goole says it's protein but it never comes out from organic outdoor bred pork. It seems to come out fom only cheap ones and the cheaper the pork is , the more they come out.

Don't waste your money on organic outdoor bred pork then.
It doesn't have any protein.

No, it's not. i know fat. The ones I am talking about look like soaked desiccated coconut. fluffy mucky yucky. Morrisons pork got them most.

I read that as Ashton Kutcher's Selection Pork Shoulder.

Brill cut of meat for pulled pork in the slow cooker :-)

1. Very few people have a "local butcher" as they're a dying/dead breed in most areas. 2. What percentage of HUKD members do you think have a friendly neighbourhood pig farmer that sells pigs/pork at the farm gate?

I'm sure if people had the money to use their butcher they would.
I do sometimes, but when money's short no shame in buying supermarket meat. At least people are cooking a home cooked meal.

None in MK.

I'm with you, but it's no use trying to explain the benefits, or the fact that it isn't expensive to shop locally/source decent meat to people here.

It's a shame that mass consumption has forced meat prices to be so slow, I'd rather not eat meat that has been fed growth hormone etc but that's my choice.

Popcorn anyone?

The problem butcher are hit and miss, last time I bought a joint of Beef rib eye from my local butcher he gave me the dry end, suffice to say it were disgusting and expensive granted not all local butchers will be like this but I can honestly say I have never received a piece of meat that bad from any supermarket whether that be off the shelf or over the counter.

well iv just bought 6.5kgs of it..makes Brill steaks for the. bbq..and yes I bbq all year and as some else said gr8 meat for pulled pork !!!

just had my delivery, and pork out of stock so substituted with a £5.97 a kg joint.. for same price... fab... have £8 worth of meat for £3..
