Is this a deal or is this just £1.50 extra put onto the price of a pizza for the privilege of them folding it in half for you?

Asda pizza's are just vile.

I like an Asda pizza an am partial to a calzone! But this does seem expensive when the pizzas are £2

Each to their own. Personally I really like asda pizzas. Found them to be far better than Domino's and a fraction of the price.

prefer calzones to pizzas, but the picture asdas got for its create your own looks pretty rank tbh.

Asda American Sizzler is yummy!

Saw these earlier and they've literally just folded a pizza in half. Not joined/sealed and no extra sauce. Due to the thickness of the bases it looked pretty heavy.

I'll stick with the pizzas which are excellent!

this sounds gross!

Looks like a regular pizza but with a softer, spiced base. Looks to have too much dough for the toppings, shame as I like Asda pizzas.

Kinda wish they'd tried deep dish Chicago style instead.

I had a hot dog stuffed crust , called chilli dog the other day. I loved it!

I agree that the make your own ones are excellent for the price, especially when you compare them to the ones in the chilled or freezer sections. The only issue is going at a time when they don't have a backlog of orders to get through!

Asda pizzas are far far nicer than the sinsburys ones near me, sainsburys are very bland.
The asda ones are pretty damn good but I stay away from the thick base ones, way too thick.

I do think Ill just foold a 1.50 cheaper pizza in half tho

Can say the same as having 3 pizzas last week all take aways from local to dominos and thought what a waste of money as Asdas are better.....

The large pizzas are £3.50 aren't they? So same price as one of them

assume (hope!) these are based on the bigger pizza - it possibly looks small...... cos its folded in half? oO

anyone seen these in the wild? would image they are sealed properly and the open look above is to stop a beige semicircle which shows nothing at all!

I'm trying to work out the size of them or see if anyone has asked on their Twitter page, but it doesn't seem like anyone has. Have a quick search of "Asda Calzone" on Twitter. It seems to bring up a few images. I can't say I am too impressed. Worth a try if people want to, but not for me I don't think.

For the price you can't beat Asda pizzas... but they give me the green apple splatters

Love their pizzas which are great value but this doesnt seem as good if it is the smaller base

thats the thing? how can a calzone impress?
either its uncut and just a brown thing or its sealed nice and cut into which just gives a red goo
not like a pizza where you can really see the toppings

maybe not though i guess!

Had a calzone last week and wasn't that impressed with it. Essentially it's a large pizza folded in half.

Big fan of the create your own pizzas tho! Used to know a family member that worked on the counter! A few extras chucked on top - delicious

They are massive IRL, about the size of a large pizza .. too much for one person! Also they are not sealed, just as in the picture, it is basically just a pizza folded in half However, my partner had one and said it was really tasty so I don't think he really cared that it wasn't a "proper" calzone.

Love Calzones if they're done properly - which they rarely are
When wife and I went to Rome food places were atrocious. But seems everywhere I went it was immigrants (guess who) doing the pizzas etc - and badly, not just Calzones.
Sorrento was the opposite as was Naples, the best of the lot. Pizzas and food in general was fabulous in Naples/Sorrento wherever we went - complete opposite of Rome, where we had to end up at a Macdonalds or a bar to get decent food

they are not calzone, they are an abomination to the food that is a calzone.

Calzones have been done a huge injustice by these idiotic companies who think it's a pizza folded in half. A true calzone has a thinner and crispier base and less sauce on each half than a regular pizza. A real calzone is absolutely delicious, these half pizza things are horrendous and too sickly to eat.

Calzone = Italian pasty.

What's not to like?

Got agree that is just a folded over normal Asda pizza!.... it looks terrible ...

Calzone, sounds better than Folded Pizza.

The calzone is a new base and it is about 12 inch before folded you can have tom bbq or garlic base on the cyo and it is not sealed but it dose cook ok

Asda pizzas are fantastic! Better than any of the other super markets custom ones.

I've just got one of these myself and they didn't have any calzones nor was it advertised anywhere. Only now am I aware of this having read this...

This was the new one in broxtowe Nottingham

Really not worth it. Me and my partner had one last week from our local. Same as their pizzas, just folded in half. Way too thick with the dough, filled way too much so they don't close very well and the dough splits as so the middle fillings come out. Stick to their normal pizzas I say.

Struggling to see how this is a DEAL and not just a member telling other members that there's a 'new' product out there...

Really though, is this an introductory offer our some kind of irregular discount? Cos if not I may as well post a deal on every new item in my local shop

anyone know what time asda stop making pizzas?
