Buy Mayflower from Home Bargains. 99p.
Always this price. I buy the Peppercorn sauce
The chip shops around my area use Dinaclass chip shop curry sauce, so that's what I buy.
This is good curry sauce for a quick fix!

Their KFC type sauce is great, but the curry sauces they do are Chinese style, which puts me off

Is it any good like the fish & chip shops used to sell?

Not an exact copy but close enough. Good enough for me to buy 3-4 packs. Try one, if you don't like return for a full refund as its Asda own brand

I have some of this sauce - bought for a home made fish and chips I was making - and it tastes absolutely nothing like the stuff I get in chip shops in the Midlands at least. For one it doesn't have the oniony lumps in it and for two it just....tastes different. I suspect the wholesale ones are the real deal. The Bisto one doesn't taste authentic to me either. Don't get me wrong, it's ok - but this is so far from the real chip shop taste that I'd rather just use Mayflower Chinese curry sauce, which tastes exactly the same as the Chinese curry sauce many chippies now sell.
