Great price for a DAB radio

Some details regarding DAB.

The digital switchover was meant to happen 2015, but now has been moved forward to 2017.

Digital UK DAB listeners must reach 50%, currently only 31%, plans were to have over 50% by this year 2013 (has not happened).

There are plans to introduce DAB+ in replace of DAB.

Some DAB radios built today will not be compatible with the new DAB+ (you will need a DAB radio that has a DAB+ chip built in).

Only 2% of the UK population relates to DAB being listened to in cars, there is a separate device to convert your excising car radio to DAB.

Only 26% of cars are being built today that have a DAB radio.

Only the large radio stations will switch over to DAB broadcasting, all local stations will still broadcast in FM for some time.

Seems there are alot of failed plans regarding the DAB radio switch over.

Got a link about the change to DAB +....... because its the first I've heard about it.

Just use the power of Google

In other words....... no you haven't then.

There are no plans to change to DAB + here in the UK....... There is also no definite date for a switchover.

But! YES the UK will eventually switch over to DAB, may or may not switch to DAB+
Although minister for culture Ed Vaizey's digital radio action plan - released in July 2010 - made no commitment to the UK adopting the new DAB+ standard, that's not to say that this won't change in future.

The plans to switch over to DAB was meant to be 2015, this date now may change to 2017 (The government will decide this year on whether to set a date for full digital switchover from FM to DAB).

DAB+ is still an option that may happen.

May change...... May happen

As I said...... No definite date for a switchover, and absolutely nothing has been announced to adopt DAB + here in the UK.
