May I suggest that you be very careful on which type of 5w/30 oil you buy.

A good target price for fully synthetic 5w-30 is £10 for four litres or £12.50 for five litres. Be patient, buy it when you see it and then hold it till you need it.

Oil is actually simple, look in your handbook,it specifies which oil to use, grade and specification. Any oil that says it meets or exceeds that specification is fine, despite what the oil makers say. The only caveat is if your car is still under warranty then you must use one which says "approved by " your car maker so as not to void the warranty terms. If your car is old and a bit of an oil eater going up tp a thicker oil might help but they are all thin after a few thousand miles anyway.

Euro car parts for oil at the moment is gone down in price 5litres for £19.50 instead of £40 5w30 fully synthetic for vw, bmw, porche. The Asda oil is mostly for fords.

There are no car makers specific oils. Any oil which meets the spec in your handbook is absolutely fine except when your car is still in warranty.
