Good price.

My dad was getting the flu every year (5 years in a row) and it knocked him out for a good 3+ weeks and even ended up in hospital once. Since starting the flu jab 5 years ago every year he's only had a mild flu once (last year).

Each year the scientists predict how the flu virus will mutate and then the immunisation works on those predications, which is why some years the flu jabs are more effective than others.

Not voting, but I can get the flu jab free on the NHS. I noticed I got flu every year I took the flu jab! The last 4/5 years I have skipped the jab and have been flu free

Flu free... not as good as fly free but close

asda also do it free for anyone who qualifies under nhs. better than making a doctor appointment.

Is Asda flu worse than swine flu?

Any evidence of this offer, link only goes to ASDA Grocery?

Good price, not to be sniffed at, heat added

It sort of defeats the object if you leave it so late in the season to get the jab.

I had mine today at boots for £9. £3 off for doing it early. Paying £2 is worth it for the convenience to where I work.

I had really bad swine flu several years ago and have been getting the jab ever since. Before that I got flu every year when the weather turned cold.
I did get flu last year despite having the jab. That's the first time in a while.

Good price. I will def be getting a jab. As a mum of 2 there is no way I will risk letting flu take me down! Life would be impossible.

Would it be ironic to vote cold?

Alas everyone else in my family get it for free. Still have some heat

I take the flu jab every year. I have been bedridden for a week with a bad case of flu. Prevention is better than cure, even if not perfect. Heat.

Just to be clear the flu vaccine is not a "live" vaccine so no it does not give you the flu. The reason many report getting flu shortly after vaccine is that it takes time to become effective and by definition you are taking it when you much more likely to be exposed to the virus.

As a health service veteran I understand the science behind this, you know, the theory. In practice every time I have this I get a two week mild cold , flu or last time a chest infection that lasted for months.
It's up to you to decide but remember it's free if you work for the NHS or are in a risk group lkie asthma or diabetes for example.

Let's say that I am, what have you got to say about that?

You need to calm down lad.

Tinfoil is a general statement referring to those who believe in conspiracy theories and other rubbish. Your last comment sou d very standoffish and passive aggressive which is against the TOS of this site.

Flu jab is the very least you should be given on entering Charlton Asda

You would be best just taking some garlic and Vit d supplements. No to Vaccinations

do you need to book appointments with asda or just show up and say stab me?

May be it was just me but I've had the most flu in the year that I had this jab.

Here we go, the anti-vaxxers arrived. Abandon ship before all logic and reason is forsaken.

Can we please stop trying to stop people being anti-vax?
Let nature take its course!

I'm not an "anti vaxxer" by any means, but every time I've had this jab I've felt crap for about 2 weeks, and tended to have more illnesses over the next few month. When I've not had it I seem to have been in much better health.

watch Vaxxed Movie and you will see why vaccines are not the cure and should not be giving to children especially. If you want your child to have autism and/or other serious health issues as they grow in long term then keep pumping this poison that they say is just a safe 'flu jab'

Yeah, autism is wonderful.

Let's not get all carried away. Vaccinations rank up there as the best inventions/discoveries mankind has ever produced. Unless, of course, you would prefer a world where we still died of smallpox, children died of measles and it was not unusual to stricken down in your prime by 'consumption'. Get a grip. Whether you want to buy a flu vaccination or not, ultimately its a good deal since it costs less at Asda than elsewhere (obv not for those who get it free on the NHS). Debating the merits of the flu jab is pointless - it's a bit of a gamble sure. The facts are that it cannot give you flu, although it may result in brief increased susceptibility to infection (since your immune system is otherwise activated). There is literally no point mentioning the risk of GBS - those quoting GBS risk must also be opposed to eating out as GI infection is far more likely to precipitate GBS than a flu vaccine. The flu vaccine does vary in efficacy because that's the nature of the flu virus - but I've never seen anyone die of the vaccine and have seen more than handful die of flu.

Indeed it can be, as people like Daniel Tammet clearly show.

It is scary how many antivaxxers are about now

Common side effects from the flu shot include:

Soreness, redness, and/or swelling from the shot.
Headache.
Fever.
Nausea.
Muscle aches.

So you can't catch flu from it, but you get the same effects as the flu. Sounds great.

Hope this doesn't count as spam or tin foil hat commenting. Shame on you OP for trying to be a censor.

It's an instore deal? Are you expecting it to be sent out to you? Seeing as you clearly don't believe me on the price, have a word at the pharmacy counter next time you're in asda

So antivaxxers had their vacinations has a kid, yet according to them, vaccinations make children autistic. So by their definition, they had the vacinations so therefore they must be autistic. Or are they perfectly fine and just like scaremongering and give no hard scientific fact to back up their claims.

If you do get those side effects they will be much less severe than the actual flu. Have a look at the last post I put on about the flu jab and you'll see exactly why i out the tin foil hat comment on.

Yeah - things will be much more peaceful when the anti-vaxers have all died of measles

Shame on you for being pig-ignorant of how vaccinations work :')

Funny... all this bull on here... still must be lots of basket cases with lingering remainitis about...

Get it if you're elderly or at risk, but if you're a normal healthy human you'll be fine without.

Drink some water, get some rest, and blow your nose so you don't get a chest infection.

Will garlic and vitamin D supplements cure meningitis too? Or did you just mean "no to flu vaccinations" for some reason?

With modern medicine they are thankfully quite unlikely to die, unless they also ignore medicine because Big Pharma or nature or something, further reinforcing their belief that measles isn't a bad disease and something everyone gets. They will also continue to be a risk to everyone else including themselves, their children and the vulnerable.

Vaccines aren't a cure, they are a very effective preventative measure that has significantly decreased prevalence of diseases and in some cases even eradicated them.

Vaxxed gives Dr Andrew Wakefield a central role, a Dr who has been struck off the medical register for various questionable activities. I don't see why anyone would trust what he has to say.

Vaxxed has been debunked by many and has received some harsh criticisms:

"This film is not some sort of disinterested investigation into the … "This film is not some sort of disinterested investigation into the 'vaccines cause autism' hoax; this film is directed by the person who perpetuated the hoax." "[Vaxxed] doesn’t care about convincing its audience with evidence. Instead, Wakefield, Hooker, and producer Del Bigtree run the viewer through a well-trod gauntlet of emotional pleas, context-free statistics ... and shadowy conspiracies, with Bigtree claiming that "all of television" has been bought out by the pharmaceutical industry.""There is something profoundly ironic about Wakefield pointing to the commercial interests of the pharmaceutical industry or accusing the CDC of data manipulation when you consider his own undisclosed financial interests behind the 1998 Lancet study and his role in what has been called one of the most flagrant frauds in medical history.""Wakefield’s film acts as if his research had not been revealed as fraudulent and he had not lost his medical license" "[Wakefield] didn’t mention the fact that he lost his license in Great Britain, he didn’t mention the fact that [11] of his co-authors withdrew their names from his paper. He didn’t mention the fact that there was a series of investigative articles by [Sunday Times journalist] Brian Deer. None of that existed in this film."

When your children get small pox, you'll know who to blame.

Still at least that's survivable.
