Cheap price but wouldn't touch supermarket fuel if you've a diesel car

Done 83k in my diesel panda. 99% on supermarket fuel. Heat from me

pity supermarkets.don't price for the whole country instead of per town. we are still on 125.9 at Morrisons at our nearest

The increased levels of biofuel in your supermarket diesel should soon see you needing a new fuel pump and injectors then I would guess.

Asda do

Wouldn't go near the diesel had to put pump into my transit last year because of the diesel. It's worth paying an extra few pence at a BP pump

Anne Robinson hasn't mentioned it either!

I chuffed its coming down. and Asda fuel is fine in 59 plate megane dci.

already 117.9 for diesel at my esso in weymouth

This one time.....

Dear god - do we really have to have the whole 'supermarket fuel is better/worse than [insert brand here] fuel' every time a fuel deal is posted?

I live in Central Scotland. I know a fuel tanker driver. All fuel comes from the same refinery. This point has been made so many times. When will it sink in to the thick skulls of some people. So what if Esso, BP, Shell, et al choose to add stuff to their tanks. It all starts off the same. Remember the Formula Shell debacle in the mid 1980's. I'll stick with the untampered stuff my local supermarket sells.

I've done 146k miles in a Seat Leon Diesel from new and also 99% supermarket fuel. Never had any major problems.

Hey buddy, this here is HUKD and there aint nothin folks round these parts like more than blaming different types of fuel for better/worse mileage and damage to the motor.

Happen they also likes scantily clad ladies now I ponder it.

For the Sealink ferries?

Fifth Gear - series 15 episode 4, premium diesel …: youtu.be/ezj…QXU

Debate for premium diesel

i normally use shell or bp but once i put in supermarket fuel and a few days later one of my fuel injectors went. coincidence? who knows
i personally think these fuels are 'watered down' versions of proper fuel and spending a few pennies extra per litre is a smart move to increase the lifespan of the fuel system. It doesn't be break the bank ffs

Yup, when will ALL the eejits who started the discussion learn?

Well iv bought mine yesterday from sainsbury 1.21 for £50.
iv noticed that supermarkets reduce there's then everyone follows

still to highly priced!

I refine my own fuel, you can't trust supermarket fuel and the big companies are too dear, works out at about £1.21 a litre, which is more than supermarkets, but less than my local shell

I run my car on chip oil... No hidden charges there!

You are a fecking idiot. Just read your own post again, and have a think!! 'Watered down' FFS what planet do you live on????. Just listen to people with years of experience of buying fuel. All the big boys do is add stuff.

Absolutely nothing wrong with supermarket fuel, laughable if you think there is! Good price, hopefully other's will follow suit.

Supermarket fuel sure does taste different.

I'd be interested to hear why anything of the correct viscosity would ruin a fuel injector. I imagine you could run water through them and they'd be fine. These people putting expensive fuel in are probably the same people topping their engine oil up with whatever is cheapest on the shelf.

I know what I'd rather spend my money on.

I must admit Shell diesel is slightly better than your stand supermarket and by better I mean you get more miles out of it (proven by travelling the exact same route of 280 odd miles) but it'll save you a couple of £'s if it's more that 4p 'ish cheaper than your local shell garage go get it cheaper from the supermarkets had no problems using it and done over 50,000 miles in the last two years.

I put Asda diesel in my car once and 3 years later, my neighbours cat lost his home due to redundancies at work.

You have been warned

I can't believe these automated spammers working for BP who repeatedly attack posts about better value supermarket fuel. I've had my VW Golf for 12 years and it's only ever had supermarket diesel. My mechanic says it's in perfect condition and it runs excellently.

Good on Asda leading the way. But it's way to slow compared to how much crude oil prices have fallen.
