It is cheese (although I agree some of these products are NOT!), but it IS NOT Red Leicester, the OP is misleading, it won't be labelled this way on the pack :-(

the 80p pack I have seen definitely contains the words "Red Leicester".

no idea what the qualifying criteria is to (legally?) acceptably use that term.

It probably says something like "an alternative to Red Leicester cheese"

There was no intended suggestion to mis-lead anybody by posting this, Asda actually have it marked up on the shelf and on line as Red Leicester cheese,having viewed the packet again it is called red medium fat hard cheese in the good for you range, :oops:

You are dead right... it IS the way they are listing it!

Disgraceful.
Obviously they are not LABELLING it that way on the pack, that is an out and out offence, but that's very misleading the way they have it on the web site, I would never have dreamed for a minute they would be try to get away with that! :-(
