IMO I'd go for the LG LD550 as the quality is phenomenally better and only about £85 more. Still a good price though.

Why would you go for this over a Samung LE32C530 (which costs less and is a better TV)? - and don't say "panel lottery" - there i no panel lottery on the 32" model, you always get a Samsung Panel.

Only £8 more here:

I recently bought a Samsung and was strongly advised to steer well clear of LG. The Samsung (Series 6) is outstanding.

@ _Dark_

Try searching....

I posted a deal yesterday for it at £291.40...

Out of stock. Oops.
£8 more it is, then.

IIRC LG do a longer warranty period than Samsung by default.

I had them replace an LG 22" widescreen HD monitor/TV with a brand new one 18-20 months after purchace.

May be worth looking into.

same with Samsung here.
failed at 13-14 months though.

Do you know if Samsung have sorted out the capicitor problem yet. Was looking for a 32" and read quite a few bad reviews on their LCDs.

The TV seems to be getting good reviews, and I'm certainly enjoying mine! Got the John Lewis one for £329.99 with their free 5-year warranty.

Don't know about the capacitor problem, my last few TV's have been Samsungs and I've never had a problem with them.

Cheers Josh. I was on a consumer forum earlier in the week and a lot of people were complaining about an undervalue capicitor problem and the longevity of the tvs. I've had a Sammie Plasma in my living room for the last 18 months and am really impressed with it, however reading these comments placed some doubt in my mind and didn't instil much confidence. I suppose we only hear about the bad and never the good reports.

Thanks buddy

Not a bad deal. I see there have been some cheaper ones about and that only a few days ago the higher spec 32LD550 was available from Currys for £285 with cashback, etc.

Load of rubbish. Nothing wrong with LG, and like with any brand from my experience it boils down to whether you've got a good one or a lemon.

Use Quidco 8% Asda Direct cashback to make it that little bit cheaper Asda Direct price is actually £297, a fiver more.

What is the standard warranty from LG? Saw this today in Poole Asda for £297.
