I am sure this has always been at this price in Asda. A great deal undoubtedly. Had a pair of super premium glasses with one pair of uv resistance done for £199 all inclusive done a few months ago . A absolute bargain compared to SpecSavers who were charging approx £500 for the same thing.
Standard offer but great deal. Just got mine last month for £149 for 1 pair of premium and 1 pair of designer premium.
And seeing as we all know that these 'designer' frames are all made by one mega company, the only difference between these and the more expensive ones in other opticians would be the lens

I'd agree that the name on the frame is pretty meaningless - wherever you go. But if the gullible are happy to cross-subsidise my cheaper frames I'm happy with that.

The real bargain with Asda, though, is the inclusion of the varifocal and super-thin lenses within the price. Specsavers charge the earth for both - huge saving at Asda. They're not really geared up to compete in any other way with Specsavers at present (though the testing's fine and properly equipped) and the customer service is poor, but if you're happy to take them on if they get something wrong (which they do) and aren't too far from a branch, they're stunning value.
