1st post so apologies if its not spot on...

Deal is appearing online aswell as being instore, pack is with all the other prepacked veg as opposed to the Ready Meals and at only 50p you can't really argue. Pack is 400G and from their 'Good For You' range but can only be microwaved...Haven't tried it yet so can't comment on the taste but a good deal for 50p!

Hi there and welcome to HUKD.
Seems like a good deal to me.
It says you can't freeze it. I wonder why.
Might give that a go and test it out on the kids. :w00t:

Only joking, but I might try that myself.
Can't think why not.

How lazy have you got to be to buy this?

Because it's already been frozen.

That's what I thought, :thumbsup:so much cheaper and nicer to mash up a couple of spuds, add some herbs and butter, whatever takes your fancy!

do you know what potato look like?

And on that note....

Many years ago I was working with these group of blokes in the middle of nowhere, anyway on the journey in I noticed a field of spuds so at dinnertime I went for the obvious. A couple of the others came with me and one started pulling up corn and wondering why there were no spuds underneath. True story

I got some Tuesday when it was reduced to 19p,
(If you add a knob of butter and some cheese its like home made):whistling::thumbsup:

Hi Shengis,
For me, it's not a case of being lazy.
When you're a single parent to two young girls, anything that saves time is worth looking into.

I do get my girls to grow their own spuds in a potato barrel in the garden and we collect and cook these every year but that is more for novelty value than anything else.
There is only enough for about a dozen or so meals.
I must admit though, they tend to be the best spuds I've ever tasted.

So if these taste OK and if I can freeze them, I will be contemplating them.

It's gotta be better than fishing the old ones out of the bin round the back of Tesco and cutting all the dirty, bruised bits out and cooking the rest. :w00t:

I agree. I'm a single parent to two boys & I'm at college full time so these come in handy sometimes!

If you've got an Aldi close by get down there, 5KG Maris Pipers for 49p. Lovely. I've been eating potato curry all week:lol: Also if you boil your own in a big batch you can freeze those, use normal freezer bags:thumbsup:

Very good advice! I know it's hard being a single mum, I am in effect six months a year whilst the hubby is away, with 3 boys under 6! I just cook loads on the weekend and freeze it for the week, much better:thumbsup:

Potato curry, yum, lol.

go this today, Asda have some good £1 deals atm, inc 2 nice size chicken breast fillets, turkey goujons, gammon steaks and fresh fish cakes

I don't think its really a case of being lazy, sometimes I work late evenings and when you get out of work the last thing you want to do is cook, each to their own on this and if you have the time to make your own then go for it, but if you don't, its not lazy...Also a big well done to those single parents out there, I've seen so many people struggle with parenthood that alone doing it on their own, they are such an inspiration to all!

Sorry mate but it is laziness of the nth degree:p

It takes just a few minutes to peel spuds - less than five minutes for a huge amount. If you want to get the kids involved, buy some more peelers and do it together - it'll be done in no time.

It is just a sheer cop-out to whine about having" no time" to cook a meal for your children. And don't give me the bollox about being a single parent either 'cos I can give you chapter and verse on that too:p
