I don't believe these additives actually work, studies have shown they decrease performance, pretty sure VBH did a test on a few of these.

Better to use BP Ultimate or Shell V-Power or similar.

I used shell V power diesel in my car for it's 1st 18 months or so, then switched to Asda diesel and have used it for the last 18 months, saved a fortune and noticed no difference whatsoever and it's a performance diesel too!

Yeah that was petrol this is about diesel.

Diesel's are tuned with a massive amount of tolerance in the engine out of the factory, it is unlikely that you will notice any difference in performance between premium and normal fuel, additives are even more useless. It is different for petrol models where a benefit is tangible, for premium fuel at least. The higher octane number (RON 98/99) will result in more willingness to "bang" per cycle, which will result in the ECU adjusting the timing, producing more power and using less fuel - as I understand it's pretty indisputable, however the cost increase of the premium almost totally erodes these benefits!

If you really want to see a difference in performance, have your diesel remapped, to tighten throttle tolerances properly according to the circumstances you use your own car - it's best bang for buck available.

I add 2stroke oil to the fuel - just to protect the fuel pump from the low sulphur - supposedly in tests it also cleaned the engine?
