Wookie,I have a diesel car and have always wanted to try oil but am not 100% sure. Did you have to modify anything with the car or can I put it straight in and drive?
veg oil expensive now due to usage in cars
Good for chainsaws too!

Yes - wouldn't put it in any new diesels engines... can gum up the injectors. Cost of repair it's not even worth it. I've run well on 50/50 oil deisel on Golf MK3 and older Vauxhalls with Isuzu engines in the past. tbh though if you really want to save money on fuel LPG conversion is well worth it if you are keeping a car for a few years and you have some money to put into it.

n.b edit > you must pay duty on the oil if you intend to use for road use

Fuel duty is not payable on first 2500 litres.

No you don't. Since 30th June 2007 there is no requirement to register to pay duty if you "produce" less than 2500 litres per year.

Oh, I sometimes wish I still had my old Seat diesel.....engine was still going strong on this stuff, but not so other bits of it!
My car runs better on veg oil :-)
i run my mk5 transit on 90% veg oil and 10% diesel fine but i get used veg oil for 50p a litre

i ran my renault scenic 1.9dci 53 plate on it at 60 to 40 % worked fine

You were very lucky it didn't go bang then the renault scenic 1.9dci 53 plate should be twin tanked to use veg oil.
I run a 54 plate tdi defender land rover using cooking oil / diesel mix, don't use cooking oil in the new tdi engines as it will f*** them up....
1960 Rover P4 with a Land Rover Discovery 200Tdi engine - 50+mpg any way, and it seemingly runs better on veg any way!
I believe you can also use this for cooking?
Always used a 75/25 mix in my 04 Renault Trafic & my 02 Focus.Never any problems.
Yeah works better in the old diesals, probably why the government paid everyone to scrap them all!!! We used to have an old mercedes and I remember about 12 years ago the hubby coming out of the supermarket and pouring the veg oil straight in, infront of a group of bemused customers, they thought he'd gone nuts!!!! It worked a treat and ran better on the stuff imo. Other cars that we had that loved the stuff 100% was an old peugeot 309, 306 and a renault 19, but of course these cars will have now been trashed. Have a petrol ford focus now, eats petrol, doing my head in, desperate for an old diesal again!!!

Hot deal btw, but I do cringe when I consider what we used to pay!!
Is this rapeseed oil. That is supposedly the most healthy(or should I say the least harmful)
Just under 25,000 calories for £2.50. Good price.
