Just been in Adsda and they've rolled back the price of Westons Vintage Organic Still Cider to £5.19 for a 3ltr box. This is premium, organic, proper cider for £1.73 a litre. It will last for ages cos it doesn't go off because of the wine box style tap. It's also cheaper than the mass market pretend ciders like strongbow

Thought some of you cider buffs may appreciate this post.

Its great cider. Seen it cheaper though. I picked up about 8 boxes when it was £4 about a year ago.

I look regularly but it always sits around the £5.50 mark.

But for anyone who wants to taste what a real cider should taste like go for it! Be careful though its really easy going down and is rather potent.

Agreed it is good stuff but at 7.3% defo not for the faint hearted, real ciders are all quite strong anyway, practice makes perfect . I usually paid around £6.50 at Asda and it's £7.49 at Tesco right now.

Wow the price sure has shot up. I was sure it was roughly 5.50. I havnt looked in a while though.

I would take adavntage of this but I'm guessing Scotland is exempt due to our over enthusiastic drinking

Oh and I like how the OP said it will last ages.......Not in my house it doesn't! It makes a great replacement for wine with your dinner as well, especially with meats like pork and beef.

Ideal for the music festival season coming up
And what about White Lighting, only £2. 99 for 3litres, with lovely delicate aftertaste!
is nice but not cheaper than strongbow. good drop though
I actually prefer my homebrew cider at about 60p a litre.
Voted cold as £6.78 online!

...and hence why the initial post is cobblers. Whilst Weston's still undoubtedly make some traditional ciders, if anyone seriously believes that anything that can be sold in every supermarket and every Wetherspoons in the land is anything other than mass-produced nonsense, they are kidding themselves.

As mass-produced nonsense goes, it's one of the better ones sure, but Weston's are still as guilty as our current government in squeezing the life out of the craft cider industry. Get yourselves along to a local maker and pay a litte more for the real thing if you can.

Can only vote cold I am afraid as one mans deal is another's livelihood.
Going to nip down at lunch, see if I can get a few for Hop Farm this weekend.
Couldn't find this in my Asda. It's a huge one too (Hulme, Manchester). Sold 2 litre glass bottles for £4 something but not really what I need.

I won't last for ages for me. 1 litre an hour... I make that 3 hours.

Surely the supermarkets affect more than the livelihood of a few cider makers. If one feels that way what about greengrocers, bakers, pharmacists, opticians, tailors, Off Licences,Wine Merchants and I'm bored.
Possibly store specific. Just checked my local and it scanned at £6.78.
Has anyone other than the OP actually seen it at this price? My mate tried another local store (east anglia) and it was £6.78 for him too.
I bought 2 boxes of this about 10 days ago from my local for £5.19 each. It was also online so proberly was a national. Although it looks like it has now expired, you can get it from Morrisons for £5.29, pretty much the same deal. I saw it at £5.29 on Saturday and is still online so is proberly still instore at Morrisons.
This will cost £10.95 under minimum pricing laws at 50p a unit

Hah, me neither.

Hopefully this is still at Morrisons on Thursday, I'll head down there if it is.
