can someone tell me what marzipan is meant to be used for? Is it icing but for people without nut allergies? just used instead? just preference?

Just gone and got some. I love marzipan. Thanks thetarget

Often used as a layer between a cake and the icing such as Christmas Cakes.
Cake decoration.
Can be made into different shapes like animals, birds, fruit etc. for petit fours. Often coloured with food dye to add character to the petit fours.
Used in bread e.g. Panettone.
Battenberg cakes
As a filling in chocs.

Basically a great tasting sweet almond flavour edible type of playdough!

Yep, avoid if you have a nut allergy.
