ASDA whole fish counter mackerel £1 per fish

Found 3rd May 2014
about 190g so about £5 a kilo gutted. Was £1.50. Overpriced at £1.50. Sold by unit not weight. Tesco sells whole ungutted mackerel for £5 a kilo by weight as it should be sold by weight! Asda used to sell by weight if you look at my past HUKD posts.

Asda have also rolled back their whole trout by a third but it is still cheaper at Tesco to buy whole trout as they weigh them at Tesco!

So it is a good deal compared to Asda's normal price but not compared to Tesco!

What fish is that Chanchi?

Looks like a pike.

Tesco ripoff, who ever heard of a fish monger selling ungutted fish so they would weigh more?

I was about to say it was a pike. All fishmongers weigh fish as it comes into their shop. So Tesco get ungutted sardines and mackerel and so do Morrisons. Trout, sea bass, sea bream and salmon always come in gutted at those two stores.
