nice

try this link for other freebies from Ashampoo.

In case it isn't obvious, Burning Studio 2012 is naggware. It will pop up every so often (as you open the application), nagging you to buy the actual full version or other featured applications off Ashampoo.

Don't forget to log into the MyAshampoo web portal after registering and turn off the 2 news letters it automatically subscribes you to. I have been registered with them since before 2010 and do not get any spam emails on the registered email address.

Nice, I might get this and uninstall all the various burning software I've downloaded over the years (except for handbrake though). I usually choose custom install anyway as you never know what is bundled...

So the install attempted to install before you even opened the installer?

I've paid for 10 and 11 of this (not that I paid anywhere near £35 for it mind) and it's really good software imho

Looking at what it says in the blurb it seems the 2012 edition isn't as featured as v11 which is the current version i'm using. It says you can't import video clips in 2012 whereas you can with v11 so you need something else to prep your folders to create a DVD with this (or have a direct rip of course)

I notice v11 is only $10 at the moment which is not a bad buy at all if actually creating discs from individual MPG/AVI files is your bag.

That's because the 201x versions are not the full paid for versions - they are the free (almost fully) functional versions. They are there to try and persuade people to buy the full versions. I use an older full version and find it fantastic, but haven't felt the need to buy a newer version, even at the very cheap rates I get offered from time to time.

I use the older versions too , but the company stinks in terms of spamming . I get sometimes 2 emails a day wanting me to buy other software .not hot for me

Strange, may be a slightly too enthusiastic Malwarebytes? Or may be the website had an advert that Malwarebytes blocked? If you use Chrome/Firefox try installing the Adblock Plus extension for it.

Cheers for the link but I had many times attempted to log on ..............I know my email addy but was not aware I'd had a password ,so consequently I didn't bother anymore . But , it's anoying to be spammed so often . It's all backfired on them as I would now never buy anything from a company like this . I just delete the emails without even reading them .

Click the forgot password link at the bottom and it will send you an email with a password reset link. And you are correct, you don't know your password. That is because the plonkers don't tell you what it is/let you pick a custom one, during the registration.

I don't care much for the marketing strategies either, however I do like Ashampoo Burning Studio. Reminds me of Nero without all the clutter.

gone for it, had an older version a while back it got deleted when I had computer problems and had to do a clean wipe of my pc so glad to get it back

Don't like the flame background, I'll stick to my 2010 one

Yeah , I had noticed the forgot........ link but thought it was easier to delete the emails . I do like the software to and use it often , I previously used Nero for data & mp3 use , but switched to Ashampoo for doing my music disks and it works very well . cheers

Nope, no design facility. There is a print function, in which it will take an existing picture and try to fit onto the insert/cd face - all very rudimentary and of very little use.

Try the Ashampoo Cover Studio 2 demo (£7 to buy right now). Never used it, so don't know if it is any good. My Canon printer came with an app to do that.
