It's true. Not that long ago England could play cricket and beat the best for a brief period. Sadly, we have fallen behind in recent years and would now struggle against a team of under 11's from Sydney Junior School.

But, at least we can read about how good we were a few years ago for a quid.

"[Most post-Ashes books are] pretty humdrum... one book does stand out. The skill is in the retelling of the action through so many different voices." THE INDEPENDENT ON SUNDAY, 16 October "The pick of the post-Ashes cricket books from those who took part in the series is Ashes Victory. The book lets the action do the talking in the form of a highly readable narrative." YORKSHIRE POST, 21 October "A seamless narrative that captures the intensity of the series and roars along... Hayter's gift for mimickry makes him a sports-writing version of Rory Bremner... anyone who can do character dialogue as well as he can should be writing plays." WISDEN CRICKETER, Dec 05 "A handsome, well-written account... articulate and revealing. The linking prose is literate to a degree remarkable in a book about sport. This book is a document to be preserved about an often agonising drama." SPECTATOR, 12 Nov "Among the best (of the Ashes books) was Ashes Victory" THE SCOTSMAN, 17 December

As over the top the reaction to the win was (especially with hindsight), this truly was the greatest test series ever, which contained the greatest test match ever.

Unforgetable, and for a quid what are you waiting for.

Anyone wanna collect and post me a copy for £2 paypal gift?

Richie Benaud's greatest ever 2 word commentary...

It's those crazy people who think what you do on HUKD is as follows: -
1) Do you like the product? - if so vote hot if not vote cold
2) If you like the product but it costs £50 more than anywhere else vote hot anyway
3) If you don't like the product even though it is 700% cheaper than the next cheapest vote cold anyway
4) Oh, I don't have one of them shops near me so I will vote cold
5) Those who think, "duh, ofcourse it's a pound if they are selling it in Poundland (which makes me want to post the £7.99 Amazon deal)
And they should all bow their heads in shame for ruining a great website
