Asics Gel Nimbus 14 (Black/Red) - £49.99 clearance at Decathlon!

I've just been to my local Decathlon at Lakeside retail park, Essex and picked up a pair of Asics Gel Nimbus 14 - the latest version - for £49.99! These are Asics' top-of-the-range running shoe and usually retail for around £120 so this is a bargain price!!

These are last season's colours (Black/Red - shown in the photo below) hence the discount and were the last pair in the section marked £50 and below. Even in the Asics outlet store I've never seen this shoe style reduced below £70 and that's for last season's model.

Obviously this may only be a local deal as it was their last pair but I thought it can't hurt to share just in case anyone here was planning to visit their local Decathlon anyway, and hopefully it'll help someone to find a bargain!

The latest 'full price' model they had in store (Note the photo still shows the previous model!):

I meant they're "top of Asics' range"

Which running shoes do you recommend instead then? Most people I know (including members of my running club) seem to choose Asics and most races I'm at I'm surrounded by people wearing Asics, so they must be doing something right!

I was a new starter with Asics, I use mine for the gym and circuit training - the best and most comfortable trainers I've every bought. When i bought my Asics I went to their flagship store in London (i was working there at the time) and they did a footscan and analysis and advised me on the best ones. No other company has done that for me - and they work wonders for my feet. I'll never go back to getting another kind for running and fitness that's for sure!
