In my opinion Asics make the best running shoes I have been through a few pairs over the years and they are soo comfortable you feel like your running in a pair of comfy slippers! This is the best price I have found online for this running shoe,The R.R.P for this shoe is £85 so at nearly half price this is a great deal

My old pair were on the way out so I decided to search for a new pair ,I used to buy regular asics gel running shoes but found that as prefer to run on softer terrain. I run on grass ,parks, muddy fields, they would get wet and soak through to the socks. So I had a search and came across the above Asics Mens Trail Lahar which are made for running on this particular terrain and importantly have a Gore-tex upper lining so that your feet will stay dry. Also if you subscribe to the Amazon fashion emails amazon.co.uk/b?i…031 you save an extra 20%

Top Features of the Asics Gel Trail Lahar 4 GTX Shoes

A great value all-round trail shoe suitable for a range of terrains.

Removable Sockliner: A sockliner which can be removed to accommodate a medical orthotic.
California Slip Lasting: For stability and comfort.
AHAR (ASICS High Abrasion Resistant rubber): Tough material placed in critical areas of heavy contact on the shoe for exceptional durability.
3M Reflectivity: Special reflective material which enhances visibility in poor light. 3m Scotchlite is a registered trademark of the 3M Company.
Visible Rearfoot GEL: ASICS GEL is a silicone-based cushioning system designed to meet the needs of both professional and recreational athletes. Rearfoot GEL provides cushioning in all directions, absorbs impact forces and helps to stabilise the foot during heel contact. The GEL in the heel is left exposed in this case.
GORE-TEX Upper: Water proof and breathable upper designed to protect the foot during extreme weather conditions.
Trusstic: Plastic bridge under the arch which gives the shoe strength and stability without loss of flexibility.

Mens

The Rearfoot GEL Cushioning System absorbs shock when your foot lands and offers a comfortable, cushioned ride.

The Trusstic System reduces the shoe's weight while creating better stability in the midfoot. The Trail Specific Outsole ensures optimal traction on any type of hilly or rocky terrain. To make it more durable it is reinforced with ASICS High Abrasion Rubber.

About Offroad Running Shoes

Offroad or "trail" shoes offer increased outsole traction and uppers with toe bumpers and reinforced stitching for more durability. The foot often sits slightly lower to the ground than usual for stability and responsiveness. Offroad shoes often have less cushioning than a road shoe because they're designed for softer surfaces. You should choose offroad shoes if you do a lot of off-road running and need shoes with extra traction, more durable uppers and extra protection from the terrain.

Seems like a good deal to me, I guess they don't look good tucked into sports socks, worn over Adidas tracksuit bottoms.

Why cold - these are gore-tex

These would be no good to me as it says for people who underpronate and I'm a severe overpronater......so a gore-tex stability trainer would be perfect. Ive just switched from New Balance to Brooks Beast but they arn't gore-tex.
You may have got a better response over on MSE......I only post my finds on MSE Grabbit board and use HUKD for browsing.

I think Amazon also have the Asics GEL-FujiTrabuco which are for severe overpronaters, I have never tried New Balance but I have heard good things about them.

Thanks...will have a look

I have looked up tough mudder as I didn't have a clue what you were talking about. It's definitely not for me though, people covering themselves in war paint and screaming U.S.A style believing if they complete the course they could have been a special forces soldieroO

LOL, Im running the UK one in the North West. Im looking for a decent pair of trail trainers for it but cos these are waterproof they are pointless as they will fill up with water and not be able to drain. I will NOT be chanting USA! LOL. Its all for charity.

Good on you ,after having a look at the video your probably best off using an old pair of battered trainers as it looks like any nice, new ones will get ruined in the mud baths they set up
