People don’t mine Bitcoin with hardware like this or GPUs and it’s very hard to get cheap LGA1150 CPUs and DDR3 RAM these days.

Not mining Bitcoin directly obviously, look at NiceHash which is very popular for mining with conventional hardware and converts to BTC...coincidentally it had a huge security breach last night and anything people haven't withdrawn to an external source is likely lost to the ether. I lost about £110 after months of mining.

I wondered who would bring that up! But yes, I know that’s what you meant - not directly mining.

Jeez, I feel good now picking it up new of ebay for £16 (was £20 plus ebay 20% off) the seller obviously felt stuck with them, bet they are kicking themselves now with the current climate

That's what the BTC stands for in the model number

"ASRock’s BTC motherboards are equipped with six PCI expansion slots, so that miners may install up to six graphics cards to mine simultaneously. Maximize your chances of getting bitcoins now!

Besides adequate PCI expansion slots, ASRock’s BTC motherboards also have two extra 4-pin power connectors for offering more power for your graphics cards. Never underestimate these two small power connectors that distinct ASRock’s BTC motherboards from other fake mining motherboards! They provide stable voltages and greatly reduce the risks of burning your motherboard or graphics cards."

Odd why they would put BTC there as you cant GPU mine for Bitcoin anymore as its asic mining, unless they using BTC as a "crypto" inductor! still good price

Because BTC is like the gateway drug of crypto! And if they put ETH or something else, people would be like 'whaaaa...?'
