which coins are worth mining these days... the cost of electricity in the UK culls most profits
Many ways of getting cheaper if not free electricity (solar panels, heat pumps etc). If you already have these installed, it can make you massive profits.
Also available (6 units at time of this post) at Amazon for £157.02 for anyone who wants to avoid Scan.

ethereum seems to be in favor as its resistant to ASIC mining by design.

Also rather than mine for yourself go with a pool like nicehash and collect coins for your utilizing you unused gpu cycles. it works out the best coins to mine based on current values and your mining speed which it determines
beware though many GPUs are now out of stock due to ethereum mining or the price has rocketed for the ones that are left.

Where can we get free solar panels or heat pumps ?
The equipment isn't free; I followed the statement by "if you already have these installed". Unfortunately the government has reduced the subsidies if you want to install them now :(.

£100 plus premium on the rx580 gpus now
MIning is dead .. all the miners will be putting their surpluss GPU's on ebay.
IF you get elec for free/using somebody else's then it may still be good ... but I pay around 17p per Kw/hr ??
